I have a problem with a Nexus 7 2nd generation not charging.

There seems to be three options:

1. Remove the back and squeeze the port housing to make it a tighter fit, probably only a temporary solution.

2. Replace the port ~ needs very careful soldering.

3. Use a charging pad : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QI-Wireles...oAAOSwDuJW0g1M

Has anyone used a charging pad?

I've not used one, but the charging pad seems to obvious answer to your problem. You should be able to use it with other devices in the future.

Works well. a full charge is about 5hrs though, as expected it does not work with the tablet cover on.
