Blu-ray remote query
How do i control the volume on a samsung TV with a panasonic blu-ray player remote??
I just don't want to be using two remotes, there is a volume control on the blu-ray remote but the TV does not respond to it ![]() (Panasonic DMP-BD83EB-K Samsung UE32EH5000) |

Do you have a manual for the Panasonic Bluray? It will probably only tell you how to adjust the remote to work with other TVs.

Having scanned the manual available from the Panasonic website I don't think it can control a Samsung TV. The only mention of controlling a TV is a single paragraph in the description of the remote control and that only mentions controlling Panasonic TVs.
There is no list of codes that can be entered to control other makes of TV as you might expect if the remote had that capability. So looks like you are either stuck with two remotes or will have to buy a universal remote. |

Well then, either look in to CEC which is about using the TV remote to control some basic functions on the Blu-ray player by means of communication over the HDMI cable. .

Just get a universal remote, by far the easiest solution and they don't cost much if you get a basic model.

Can anyone tell me why the key to my Fiat Punto doesn't work on the Audi A7 down the road?

(no need to be a smart alec) ![]() A Blu-ray player is used occasionally rather than all the time. Look at the TV remote for your UE32EH5000 (link to pic), it has Play, pause, Rew, FFwd, Chapter skip and menu controls already on the remote. If you thought about this reasonably then you'd look in to using CEC (or Anynet as Samsung calls it) and use the TV remote to control the BD player rather than trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill by doing things arse about face. |
