As with best actress, some interesting choices. Jack P Shepherd is fantastic on a regular basis, great comic timing and good at the dramatic stuff as well. I still feel like I'm waiting to be won over by Ben Price, which considering he's been playing Nick for just over five years now, I'm not sure if I ever will be completely. Again, he has some great comic timing too. Alan Halsall's been good in previous years, but this hasn't been a good year for him or Jennie McAlpine.
Emmerdale's lot - less said about Danny Miller the better. He's a good actor but the character of Aaron is once again immensely boring. I'll be more likely to vote for him when he actually has to act some happy scenes for a change. John Middleton is usually fairly consistent but occasionally I find him a bit phoney - mainly when he's doing anger or crying scenes. Hard to explain but he sometimes seems like he's going a little too far and over the top. Possibly just down to preference though. Dominic Brunt is again usually a fairly consistent actor, but considering he's had a big story this year, I don't really feel like he's delivered anything that I've not seen from him already. Will probably end up going with Jack P Shepherd. |

James Bye.
He has made the character of Martin all his own. One of the best recasts in EE history. |

Consistently brilliant actor!! ![]() I hope Danny Miller does not win. While I do think he's talented (even though I hate Aaron), all he does anymore on the show is cry. Plus, doesn't he already have like 20 BSA's? Jack P's never won before, right? |

Probably Danny Miller at a push.
Can't believe Steve McFadden isn't up for nomination, yet King Danny Dyer is AGAIN!

How and why isn't Michael Parr at least nominated? He stole the show last year in ED imo.
He shone with all the storylines he had - Fight, affair, rising from the dead, shooting Robert, Debbie's exit. These nominations appear to only have taken into consideration the last few months. |

John Middleton. Really tough storyline, but somehow he's pulled it off - it really gets me, Ashley's story.
He hasn't got enough wider audience recognition to win though, I don't reckon. Talent will have to be its own reward. |

Don't rate any of them really bar John.
Line up seems pretty weak, to me, so I'm hopeful John may get enough votes for his talent alone to make the shortlist - I'd be happy with that outcome, as he'll never get enough support to actually win the award over 'public figures' like Danny Dyer or the undeserved social media hype of the likes of Danny Miller, unfortunately. |

Why no Steve 😮
sorry but the performances he has put out in the past year should make him a shoe-in for this as I can't vote for the Best Actor, I will vote John Middleton as he is also at the top of his game with his current story Steve has been absolutely robbed |

Steve McFadden should have walked away with this award. The fact he didn't get nominated is crazy. Danny Miller will likely win but I agree with others, with no Steve in the running I would go for Jack P Shepherd.

Who compiles this list? ![]() The soaps put forward the nominees. And Best Actor is publicly voted, so I guess they put forward the ones who are popular with the enthusiastically voting Ladies of Twitter. The awards are all a bit daft, tbh. |

John Middleton all the way.
He gives outstanding performances time and time again. I'd really like to see him get some sort of recognition. |

Very weak category, and I can't believe EE didn't put Steve forward. Even if the nominations are done in advance, surely they worked out the list would come out at the same time that Phil's alcoholism storyline was airing and that he'd be a shoo-in for the win?
I'd normally vote for Kieron Richardson but I absolutely hate the direction they've taken Ste in this year and I don't want to encourage that. The other two HO nominations are a joke. Out of the EE nominations, I think all three actors are of a fairly similar ability but I actually think Davood has done the most understated work this year and is probably the underdog, so I've gone for him. |
