Woah are you sure, we don't want the whole Jeckyll and Hyde scenario again especially if it was made by BBC Three and for Young Adults.

So filming started a few days ago and will go on for about 5 months.
Once you add in Post Production I'm guessing an October/November start for the show. |

I can't wait to see it. At least we're not getting nothing this year, just a hiatus year like 2009 when we had The Sarah Jane Adventures. And if rumours are right about Peter Capaldi appearing in it...

This year, there 1 episode of who at Christmas, and a solitary spin off mainly based for a young adult audience, and as such won't appeal to many. So not really like 2009 at all. |

Not really. In 2009 we had 4 episodes of doctor who itself, Torchwood children of earth, and the Sarah Jane adventures.

Yes, but Torchwood wasn't really suitable for children so they were missing out there and had even less.
At any rate, multiple episodes of who and a spin off for the kids, and multiple episodes of who and a spin off for the adults was much better for both age ranges than just a solitary spin off aimed at the 'young adult' market, rather than either kids or adults, and a single who special that we have to wait until practically the end of the year for. 3 actually!

Those children still had more who than we are getting this year, and the series of Sarah jane adventures. Plus I seem to recall that at one point at least the bbc were airing child friendly versions of torchwood episodes with the inappropriate scenes taken out (not entirely sure if they did it for the 2009 series though).

As Patrick Ness has stated before, it'll air on BBC1.
Meanwhile, the excuse by the same people for it not being #1 on the iPlayer is that it's not on a proper TV channel! Cue Jon Pertwee theme tune cliff hanger shrill... |

Katherine Kelly is fantastic, and I've been a bit in love with Fady Elsayed since he was so gawjus in Citizen Khan. Still not enough to make me watch this though.

S4 finished at the start of July whereas S9 finished at the start of December, so that's an additional 5 months of "no Who" you have to add on to get a fair comparison
However you try and spin it, there has never been a time since the show returned that there has been a full 12 months between one episode of who and the next. |

The 2008 Christmas special broke up the time between series 4 and the first 2009 special, with the same amount of gap as was regular at that time, because the series aired in spring/summer. So no hiatus anomaly there and nothing to 'add on'.
However you try and spin it, there has never been a time since the show returned that there has been a full 12 months between one episode of who and the next. 5 months between S4 and TND. 4 months to POTD. 7 months to TWOM. Between the end of S4 and TWOM were 2 episodes in 16 months. S10 will be about 6 months later than it should be. If it had been scheduled to the S9 timetable, there would have been a 9 month gap between THORS and S10 anyway, due to the Christmas episode following directly behind the main series. |

The BBC has made a few so called spin off shows in the past and I feel this one has not a very good start with it being made for a closed down channel BBC Three is no longer a broadcasting channel at all not even a internet streaming channel, it just shows on a player that over time the shows may be broadcasted on the other three BBC channels with a BBC 3 logo flashed as it starts.
The Doctor Who spin off show should be made from using a better story line then just a school were the Doctor had his granddaughter school at for a time and Dalek's battle took place or were Clara worked between traveling with the Doctor..... It should be like Torchwood or bring it back . It could be a show using..... "The Doctor's granddaughter", The Doctor Daughter " , " The Victorian gang of Madam Vastra, Strax & Jenny " or the Master / Missy ..... Also the BBC should use an asset like Doctor Who with more wisdom and book many seasons a head so that making the show is kept at a lower cost along with giving max time to sell the show around the world for TV & DVD every year .... |

I doubt the BBC and Moff sat down and pondered spinoffs, before choosing Class and then getting Ness in to write it. This is a Ness creation, a new show effectively, that has been brought into the Who nethersphere. The market for this series will include many people who don't watch Doctor Who, but like the idea or like his books |

Must've said something he shouldn't, as it's been deleted.
Hopefully it was something interesting that will be revealed soon, whatever it was. |
