That really was a painfully bad attempt at "comedy", even for Corrie standards!

She's not an ignorant woman, and wouldn't have come out with that
It's more something Gemma or Beth might say

I don't think I've ever met anyone that would get vendetta and Viennetta confused. That was a shameful attempt at comedy.

Who said it? I wasn't exactly giving the episode my undivided attention.

Even bearing in mind Vianetta is hardly "posh".

Vendetta? What's that, an Italian vending machine?

That is a joke by Krusty the clown, A fake clown in a cartoon....And it fell flat then

What next a baby shooting a character?

How about Jason asking Sean 'Is there an actual list of the rich? ' It doesn't even work.
These are jokes that the Chuckle Brothers would reject for being too unsophisticated.
Also, a lower middle-class woman like Cathy would not regard calorie-laden gunk like Vienetta as 'posh'.

Incidentally, how come the fiery Liz McDonald tolerates Amy's disrespectful tone of voice when she's speaking to her?

I agree. Cathy is the last person I would expect to hear that from. She is an intelligent woman. Very out of character.

Very lazy writing and as mentioned, out of character for Cathy to even say something like that

Sounds about right for Cathy and what her idea of posh is.

Lazy writing? I wouldn't expect any different from our beloved Corrie.

I'm surprised Melanie Hill has stayed on the show this long, she is a better actress than this silly part she has got in Corrie, She will brilliant as Mrs Budgen in Waterloo Road.

Hopefully when Roy gets back, she will be used more.

Wonder if Roy and her will get married

I agree. Melanie hill is better than this but as a jobbing actor, it's anything that helps pay the mortgage.

Exactly, Viennetta may have been something special in the 80's but now it's just supermarket fodder. It's OK, but far from been the best and far, far from being posh.

It would be posh for someone like Cathy.

Back in the 80s Vianetta was very posh, it used to be a real treat.

But so was Gino Ginelli.

Remember this is a suburb of Manchester where sitting at a table eating with a knife and fork instead of on the couch shovelling food in with a fork in front of the TV is considered posh.
