What does she do to sell records now?

Elope with fanny off 1D?

Or what other show could she hook onto the back off to stay relevant?

Perhaps ITV will give her a job on The Voice? Providing glasses of water for the judges maybe.......

So Louis will be back ?
To be honest i never minded Cheryl that much, i thought Rita was worse last year, i think she suited The Voice far better, hopefully Rita will not be on the panel either,

Cheryl and Rita fill the same role, there to provide 'eye candy' for the male viewers, so there is no need for both of them to be on the same panel.

I don't believe it was Cheryl's decision and saying that she quit is merely a face saving exercise. If she's serious about rebooting her music career she needs the show, especially as her most recent album barely scanned silver and the last single didn't even make the top 40. Or maybe she's disilluded enough to think that her fauxmance with Liam Payne will generate enough interest.

Definitely not her decision. She is well past it when it comes to being a viable popstar. That ship has sailed. The massive popularity surge she had in the early days of X-factor is very much diluted now and outside of flogging hairspray what does she do. X-factor was her main gig each year, to keep her relevant in some way. Lose that.... and those that thinks she is "worth it" may find a more relevant public face for their products.

She's confirmed it with MailOnline

Honestly, who cares at this point? The show is dying on its arse. And the table Cheryl judges from has more charisma than she does anyway.

I agree, there is no way she quit, it's the only real gig she had going. Her music career isn't going to get any better, it will suffer. Shes now lost her only promotion tool. Her showmance with Liam Payne will be old news by the time any new music is released so unless they can cook up a quick pregnancy or cheating scandal in time for promo, that won't get her enough press to make a difference.

Great news. Looking forward to seeing who they replace her with.

Same. I liked Nicole more than Mel, but either is good.

Thank the lord. Now they need to get rid of that wretched Rita Ora if they want any hope of getting back on track.

Although I thought Mel B was actually better than I thought she'd be, if there is a panel with Sharon O on it, then I think Nicole would go better with Sharon than with Mel B. I think there'd be a major clash there.....!

Fun to watch though...........

Delighted she is leaving or got axed. I hated her returning and put me off the show as i honestly feel she adds nothing to the show and comes across extremely fake on the show.

This aside, the judging panel is not the main problem with the show. The show needs to completely change the song choices in the live shows as the songs have become so predictable, this element for me is what has made me lose some of the interest in the show. Simon also needs to realise that dropping the winners so quick after the show is doing the show damage as people know winning the show means nothing. Syco should invest in the winners and give them a fair chance.

Two dated music managers who are out of touch with today's music scene.
A popstar who clearly cares more about the exposure and pay cheque rather than the talent.
And then obviously Simon.

I'm not usually one to heavily criticise the show (after all I've watched it for 11 years) but this would be a horrendous judging panel.

I'd go for:

Simon Cowell
Nicole Scherzinger
Charlotte Church
Craig David

It's a bit much calling Cheryl extremely fake when the XF is extremely fake.

Not going to lie, I'll miss her a bit, but she was pretty dull last year so maybe she's just over it now.

I wouldn't mind Mrs O returning, although her 2013 return was underwhelming. I agree with others that they need to think fresh, Louis and Sharon know very little about the modern music industry - they might as well bring on Pete Waterman. I'd like to be introduced to a new record producer/A&R type. These popstar judges are clueless and are just as much puppets of the show as the contestants are.

Great news!

Although she is bound to mime her next single during one of the live shows.

The Sun's Dan Wootton must be inconsolable at the news.

This is true, panel is irrelevant, they change it every year, ratings still drop.

I'd like to see Nicole back if Sharon is on the panel, and it seems likely if Nicole is lined up for The Voice should Rita stay on X Factor.

But perhaps they're planning on doing something nobody really expects, and putting Sharon and Dannii back together. It would certainly generate headlines but 8 years on, everyone is over that now.
