Corrie's Michelle has been outstanding the last few episodes
I feel like she has finally come into her own now that she has her meaty storyline and not hanging off Carla's coattails or rolling her eyes at Steve.
That showdown scene with Liz at the end of Friday night's episode was particularly amazing and you really felt for her situation. The only annoying thing is that I doubt the writers will let her go the next step and have a little moment of weakness as they seem obsessed with portraying her in a saintly light ![]() I definitely prefer her away from Steve though and would like to see her with someone else. |

Sorry OP she really hasn't
Michelle is more annoying than in your face Marsh/Ryder/Lomas or whatever name she has now |

Sorry, but Michelle has a dislikeable personality
She may be the worst person ever behind the bar of the Rovers |

As for the character of Michelle, she has enough shortcomings, so i'm glad that she is one of the few characters who is actually loyal to whichever bloke she's with!! It is refreshing for a soap & I hope it continues!! |

All Michelle does is stand around frowning with her arms folded telling everyone how busy she is.

I would like to see more of her real self. I'd like to see her looking like shite first thing in the morning, with greasy hair and puffy eyes.
I agree she is in the wrong part. She gets a lot of camera time but damn all stories of her own. |

She did a media interview recently where she was 'thinking of leaving' because Alison King was leaving and she wasn't sure was her contract being renewed. They renewed her contract and then she 'decided' to stay.

The acting on Friday's episodes (sorry haven't seen last nights yet) was like she has just come from a really bad drama school. Extremely unrealistic, the actor probably thought she was putting her heart and soul into the scenes but they were just cringe-worthy.

It's nice to see Michelle get a s/l of her own, but that row scene with Liz was terrible. Huffing and puffing, still prone to foldy arms and eye swerves. She always looks immaculate, whatever time of day, mascara in place -- even when supposedly running three business and not getting much sleep. Doesn't smack of a woman under stress, god help us if they want us to believe she is.
The chat with Sean in the backroom was marginally better, not helped that she did her usual mug-hugging, imaginary sips routine. |

She is not in the same league as Izzy or Sean, but she is no Judi Dench either.

Don't like her at all in Corrie and am finding her incredibly irritating at the moment with this storyline.

She was one of the reasons I switched off last night and watched something else.

Whatever shortcomings people perceive she has in her personal life (nobody's business but her's imo, though she does have a tendency to make it everybody's), Kym Marsh is & always has been a decent actress when she's given strong material to work with, certainly superior to many on the show!!
As for the character of Michelle, she has enough shortcomings, so i'm glad that she is one of the few characters who is actually loyal to whichever bloke she's with!! It is refreshing for a soap & I hope it continues!! Kym Marsh is a good actress, she has pulled off some decent performances over the years (Liam's death etc) but sadly she's been the victim of poor storylines. Not bad considering she's an ex pop star and has little drama training compared to other soap actors who have and are still dire to watch. |

I really don't think outstanding would be a word I would describe Kym Marsh acting.
Michelle bemoaning that she busy, why doing nothing, is outstandingly bad. In general she another Sean, not good enough to have a main s/l of her own that's any good, so they throw her a few crumbs to keep her sweet. Taking her from the factory and plonking her in the pub has done her characters no favours. She and Steve have no chemistry what so ever either. |

Ah Michelle's not that bad. I think she gets slated because of who she's played by. The character has her flaws (who doesn't?) but she gets more stick than she deserves imo.
As for Kim's acting, there are far far worse on the street - Izzy, Fiz, Alya to name a few. She's no Jane Danson but she's far from terrible. Disclaimer - I realise I'm in a minority here, just my opinion

Putting aside the weak acting and Marsh's private life, Michelle will always be tainted by that awful baby swap storyline which they don't even remember existed now.

I have no idea what Kym is like in real life, I am just judging her on her acting and what she has been given to work with, not a lot!
Awful storyline, makes no sense whatsoever that Steve would just up sticks and suddenly not give a stuff about Michelle or his daughter. And Kym's constant eye rolling gets on my wick. |

She's great - and I really can't understand the hate for her when there are far worse actors on the show
