EE - "Inits" catching "init"!
Citizen Kane
05-04-2016
Not only are we subjected to Kim ending each sentence with "init" regardless of the context or emotion. But she now has her sister copying her. Last week, Denise ended her conversation with Kim with the beautiful "init".

KIM - my work here is done, "init"!

I hadn't noticed this! I've really warmed to Kim lately, she has been written really well recently and not too over the top. I hope they keep it this way.

To be fair people do use init in conversation. I prefer though and like to be honest.

I really like her too. She's good comedy value for money.

That's how some people talk. It all depends on the character. A character like Kim is more likely to say Innit then say someone like Dot. It's about keeping a certain language key to certain characters.

That's how we talk down here in London. I don't see what you're complaining about and that's coming from someone who has no time for the unsufferable Kim.

I don't know where you live but that's how we talk in London. I don't even notice when she says it because I'm so used to hearing it.

Nancy calling everyone "oi" is far more annoying IMO - she seems incapable of calling anyone by their actual name!

she referred to Lee as "oi" the other day - makes my blood boil just a little!

I generally think that saying "innit" sounds common, but when Kim says it, it suits her, and I think she says it more for comedic effect.

She's obv an over the top character and so is the way she says "innit" which highlights the comedic effect.

She's hardly Lee's number one fan at the minute so I don't see why she should give him the respect of referring to him by his first name.
