iPad vs Macbook?

Hi,

I bought a MacBook Pro last year with the intention of doing some amazon business, thing is because its a laptop I rarely us it and do most stuff on my iphone as its so convenient.
Question is, could an iPad do most of the things a MacBook can do?
How much would my MacBook be worth if I sold?

Thanks

Yes it can to a certain extent. The laptop runs full programmes, were as the ipads runs apps, and even if they are the same app/program usually the tablet version is cut down in some way.

The new ipd pro could help if your doing Amazon/Ebay selling as obviously it has the apps for these but also has a very good camera, so in theory you could do everything through the ipad, even re-touching product photos should you need too.

It's horses for courses though, at home my gaming laptop sits next to me on a book shelf, is always on (sleep mode), and my ipad is always next to me as well, but it's always my ipad I go for when needing to check the news, emails, FB, IMBD etc. even though my laptop is there raring to go. Tablets are just so good at some things, and not so good/terrible at others.

Well I think it comes down to what you want to do.

The macbook is more capable than an iPad. There are certain things that an iPad just can't do.

What kind of tasks do you want to do?

If you tell us what you want to do then people can advise you better on what device you need.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. I want to use it for 3 things, selling on Amazon/Ebay, and for my website/blog. I do upload pictures onto some of my blog posts also where I need to change the size of them etc.
I will need to print labels also. That's about it really. Im not into gaming or anything. The rest will just be for facebook and emails and stuff.

Thanks

In theory printing is ok providing you have a compliant printer, everything else you mention is ok too. If your writing long blogs you may find the keyboard and ipad Pro 9.7 ideal.

You can do all that on an iPad.

Also, the bigger iPad Pro screen at 12.3 inch, is the iPad itself larger or just the screen?

There's 2 pro's now a 12.3" and a 9.7" (which is the same size as a normal ipad Air) The larger pro has twice the screen size as an air, but isn't twice as big all round. TBH I think the larger pro is just too big for tablet use, it's fine for use at a table etc, but I prefer the portability of the 9.7", which is why I bought one...lol

I agree. I think an iPad would be very suitable.

Thanks. What would be the main purpose of buying a MacBook?

If someone's actually going to do proper work at some stage then keep/use the Macbook but if it's leisure purposes only then by all means get an iPad and sell the Macbook.

Well you bought one!

It's really for productivity tasks, word processing (real keyboard), spreadsheets, some graphic design.

I use mine to watch porn - it's better than an iPad cos you don't have to hold the screen.

Thanks, I tried that last night and it worked a treat. Think il keep the MacBook now for those purposes and get an ipad for the other stuff.
