Stealth price increase by Three?

I was booted from the One Plan and got the AYCE everything and 12G hotspot for £20.

I asked twice if this price would stay the same for the contact duration. Yes I was told. Definately not, the lady said.

Now looking on My3 it looks like they are about to take £21 next month. Not had any text or email to say there will be an increase and was not expecting this.
A 5% rise is more or less twice inflation. Can they get away with this? Has anyone else noticed this? Can anything be done or have ive been screwed over? If they are putting the price up shouldni try for the 30G hotspot? Perilously close to 12 this month.

Thanks David.

Just wondering if they are charging you for slightly more than 1 month for the 1st month as it's out of sync with your old contact?

No idea whether its just a coincidence or part of the wider scale but I posted on another thread a few hours ago that my Stepfather had a letter through stating that his £10 per month tariff would now be £11 per month. The letter stated that it should be £14 a month but they were applying a £3 / month discount. Either way, it worked out an extra £1 a month, although they did at least write to him informing him of the change.

Fortunately he is on a rolling contract, so his one and only response was to send a letter giving notice. He is now moving to life mobile, which is a much better deal (for him) with an extra 400 minutes and saves him nearly £4 a month on Three's new price.

Three's service around here is crap (and that is being kind) so its hardly worth the old price, if anything they should be heavily discounting their plans in this area as you can never connect on 3G!.

Does My3 say the plan has changed to £21 or is there just an additional £1 added somewhere?

Is it something to do with the RPI? I upgraded last week and there's now a thing on all Three bills to say that they reserve the right to increase tarrifs if the RPI is increased.

Mine is showing £18 instead of £17 for the plan I just signed up to. Will moan at @threeuk and see what they say.

£17 to £18 or £20-21 is more than rpi or cpi surely. Twice as much?

Yeah that will be the inflation increase. They probably have a clause to raise it by inflation + x%

The rpi increase is meant to be in May though.

I've checked with Three and there is nothing on the system to suggest my bill is going up - they've asked me to provide a screenshot of the price increase so technical can look at it.

I have the option selected that blocks every call or txt out of allowance on and there is definately no additional spend

The RPI increase is only applicable to contracts with a phone though - SIM only contracts are specifically excluded from that clause.
