Hub or modem failing??

Hi folks,
Before I waste half my life trying to get any sense from Bt helplines I was wondering if anybody here can throw any light or suggestions my way.

For the last week, every morning I find the broadband light on the hub flashing Amber, resetting the hub makes no diff but I can restore a blue light by unplugging and plugging in the Sep modem. I have infinity 2 running on a home hub 3 with the Sep modem fixed to the wall.
This failing only seems to occur in the hours overnight when traffic is at its lightest if any at all!
Any thoughts appreciated.

It certainly sounds like there's an issue with the modem. When the problem occurs, are the Power, DSL and LAN1 lights all lit and solid?
