Neighbours topped the multi channel ratings in Australia yesterday with the 1 hour special. The first half hour had 268,000 viewers, dipping slightly to 251,000 in the second half hour. This is quite a result for the show, as it has struggled to maintain above 200,000 so far this year, with many episodes ranging within the 150,000-190,000 range and coming no where near the top ten on many occassions.

The 1 hour special got 1 million viewers in the UK so it's obvious it's the UK that's keeping Neighbours going.

They really need to try and maintain those extra viewers though if they can.

These are the highest figures of the year for Australia, so it can be said it has been a ratings success here and Australia!!

did the uk get it first? It was trending on twitter and facebook so that could have helped with the Australian viewers. Those that maybe don't always watch might have tuned in to see
