It's not like he has any children or any relationship sucking his money away. I'm sure his rent is cheap (if he pays any at all!). He doesn't look a big food eater..

Seems unrealistic how he always comes across like he is on the poverty line.

And he has been living in Eileen's front room for 12 years.

I know single men living with their parents who have 1 job who are minted because it is so cheap.

Not to mention all the freebies Sean gets/attends. He doesn't seem like he would be so loose with his 2 jobs salary (which he would atleast be getting minimum wage of £7.20 on both) yet argues about the cost of everything and how poor he is etc.

Which doesn't make sense at all. It's a perfect illustration of how the character is living a cosy life.

That said with

Spoiler

it should free up some space.

It's ridiculous that he's imposed Eileen for all these years. He's not a very realistic character. You could the amount of times he's spoken about venturing off the street I.e. clubbing down canal street in 12 years on one hand.

He does have a child though. We'd be forgiven for forgetting but has a child with Violet. I don't know the arrangements but presumably he pays something to support him?
I agree though, lodging with Eileen would hardly cost him a fortune, he should be minted!

I'm not sure what would be worse, living with Horrible Eileen or having Sean as a lodger

He does have a child ,he is working 2 part time jobs on probably a minimum wage, after he sends money to Dylan and pays his rent he probably doesnt have that much after bills and food.

He doesn't have to pay maintenance to it though surely?

I would think he does, he used to have Dylan , but he seems to have been forgotten about, he woudld be obliged and enthusiastic to support him I am sure.

It always amazes me when soap characters with no responsibilities end up being so poor. Most have jobs and none of them work outside of their square/street so have no travel costs to factor in. They rarely go on holiday either - unless the actor/actress wants a break, but even then the character goes to visit a friend or relative. Their only outgoing aside from their bills is the local pub.

Sean is an even better example - because presumably he doesn't pay as much rent as he would if he got his own place and in that situation you'd guess that Eileen pays all the bills. Perhaps he visits G-A-Y every night!

Even when he was with the likes of Marcus Dent they still slept in Eileen's front room instead of getting their own place.

To be fair though Jason's in his thirties, no one's forcing him to stay at home with Mummy!! They're all as bad as each other!!

What I find most disconcerting is that in his mid-30's, Jase still bunks in with his mam. Truly disturbing stuff.

Thanks for reading.

At the moment, the lack of a gay bar on the Street means that the gay characters are the only ones allowed to leave the street for a night out. Everyone else is either Rovers or The Bistro.

Oh, and the gay characters are only allowed to leave if it's in a group, and said group contains every gay character.

She must have an arm like a viking from pushing them away from her all night. A woman's work is never done falls into this category.
