R&B singer/songwriter Leon Haywood has died aged 74.

Best know here for the song 'Don't Push It, Don't Force It'

The list of celebrity deaths this year keeps getting longer

Leon was indeed a classic one-hit wonder. The song was good although Peter Young was correct to describe it as sounding like 2 recent hits at the time:- Kool & the Gang's Ladies Nightt and Al Hudson & the Partners' You Can Do It.

And in 1982 there was another top 20 hit that sounded like (especially) 'You Can Do It' - 'Saddle Up' by David Christie.

To complete his epitaph, Leon Haywood also wrote and produced 'She's a Bad Mama Jama (She's Built, She's Stacked)' a hit for Carl Carlton in 1981.
