Quite likely I think.

I'd like it to be Sophie Hitchon.

Both Jess Ennis Hill and Rebecca Adlington have been rumoured before although Rebecca has just taken part in The Jump and did do I'm A Celebrity.

Almost certainly. My money is on either Greg Rutherford or Hannah Miley

I said Greg Rutherford earlier in the year. He's the one most likely to do it I think, and would be a good signing for th show.

I can't see Jessica Ennis doing it, and Rebecca Addlington has become a bit of a desperate z lister who'll do anything. I'd say she's gone too downmarket for Strictly, but then they had Peter Andre last year so maybe not.

I'd say neither Greg Rutherford and Rebecca Adlington are particularly more desperate or z list than the other. Certainly she's done (quite a lot) fewer nude photoshoots than he has.

Mark Cavendish, please.

I'd like to see a Paralympian on the show. They have had one on DWTS.

It makes me a little sad Rebecca Adlington is seen by many as a low level celeb these days. I do understand why after the jungle and her recent press surrounding The Jump but her Olympic achievements were so fantastic. I'd love her to do Strictly and think it could be positive for her as regards her profile. I have no idea if she'd be any good....hopefully better than Mark Foster

Why do people think Greg Rutherford will take part? I shouldn't think he's ready to retire yet, he's at the top of his profession.

The more the merrier when it comes to Greg Rutherford naked photo shoots as far as I'm concerned

Also the World athletics championships are in London next year so I don't think any of the top athletes will do it this year. Any Olympians will come from other sports

Well, he's currently taking part in Battlechefs over on Watch, with Marco Pierre White (seems to be a sort of Hells Kitchen of the sea?) so he's not adverse to a bit of branching out, even in Olympic year.

Mark Cavendish please; time for an uber fit male ringer again.

(Also as ringers go he blows Natalie Gumede out of the water; we haven't seen 9s week 1 for ages).

Jade Jones or Nicola Adams for the women,

Greg Rutherford or Max Whitlock for the men

International Dafne Schippers or past great Ian Thorpe. Any two or three of these would do me.

I think there will be two or three, but the games run to mid August, (21/8) so time is very tight for the launch show.

Jess Ennis Hill, would be the Jewell in the crown. She would get ratings well up.

I think they would get pre agreement before the games, and so it would be someone considering retirement.

Former stars, Sir Chris Hoy or Bradley Wiggins could be good.

Can we have a past Olympian? I think Eddie the Eagle would be a good choice, he'll be recognisable to younger viewers as well now he's had a film about him.

I think they may get someone who does well in Rio doesn't anyone else, someone who we don't know about yet who will be successful

It would be too late to make a call based on success at Rio.

They could maybe get interesting past Olympians - like Daley Thompson or Kriss Akabusi.

I think we'll have an olympian or two, but as has been pointed out, there isn't much of a window between the games ending and strictly starting.

He's not likely to be risking a career-ending injury on Battlechefs. Think of what happened to Jade Johnson.

Maybe not in 2016 then, but he's someome I expect to see on Strictly at some point in the future.

Agreed.

I hope Greg will sign up to Strictly whenever he retires from athletics.

Perhaps this maybe a clue as Anton is due to attend Solihull Fashion Week soon.
