I don't hate them. But I usually ignore them. Does this fit?

I agree. How you remind me is a great song. They never released anything half as good since though.

I think "Good Times Gone" from the same album is better.

I used to listen to that album at the time Still like that song in a nostalgia sense.

They got even more wet and bland after that album though in my opinion. A mate of mine still listens to them and Linkin Park, they both sound so middle of the road.

Well, Nickelback are seen as unchallenging, derivative and making music solely for commerical reasons (sure, most bands like to make money, but they don't make it the main focus of their work like NB do).

Also, it's lucky Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne didn't have kids, because the poor moppet would be stuck with the most embarassing parents ever.

The thing is a lot of people hated new Nickelback because they became too poular with mainstream listener and lost their old sound, same thing happened with Kiss and even Aerosmith and even Snow Patrol as they got abit older.

If anyone heard Nickelback old work before they were big, along with fellow Canadians Our Lady Peace,Matthew Good Band they would think how cool they are.

I lost a bet a couple of years ago and as my punishment had to listen to all the Nickelback and Creed albums back to back.

Absolutely awful both of them. (Creed's first album was the best of a woeful bunch, although I still wouldn't call it a highlight as such....).

Blimey there are many worse rock groups out there and compared to, say, chart music today they are fantastic.

Ok name a worse rock band than Nickelback or Creed. I'll give you Limp Bizkit.

I saw Nickelback a few years ago and was sat next to a real hardcore Nickelback fan and even she didn't like Rockstar!

Musically they were fine but as a gig there was absolutely no spontaneity at all. Everything they did, where they stood, what they said, when they said it, was absolutely scripted down to the finest detail. It was a very sterile experience.

I lost a bet a couple of years ago and as my punishment had to listen to all the Nickelback and Creed albums back to back.

Nickelback and Creed are very US Rock radio friendly, there are a whole raft of similar bands, 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse, Matchbox Twenty, etc. Although in saying that I do like 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse, and Matchbox Twenty.

However without Creed, and more specifically Scott Stapp falling out with Mark Termonti and Scott Phillips, Mark and Scott P wouldn't have gone on to form the mighty Alter Bridge!! So sometimes good things do come out of the likes of Nickleback and Creed!!

Those bands are less macho (in the really, really dumb sense) than Nickelback and less pompous than Creed. Yeah they are a little bland but at least they can create something close to representing a memorable hook on occasion..

Their old sound was already bland and polished, I wouldn't have guessed they can make something even worse. I was proved wrong of course. They are still better than Kiss tho, I will give them that

Isn't hating Nickelback a bit 2008? Anyway, How You Remind Me is a great song. 14 years old now!

According to that article Nickelback are hated by Rock fans because they are inauthentic. Apparently they don't drink enough, have too many teenage girly fans, play the genre tropes too well and have too many commercial hits. That seems very modern to me. Maybe if they were more like Fall Out Boy?

To be fair to Nickelback, they know their formula and have stuck with it. Rigidly. I think that may be their problem, and why everybody hates them.

I like "How You Remind Me" but everything else is dirge. At least Fall Out Boy switch it up a bit. To my ears, anyway
