buying new iPad pro in Japan?

OH in Japan for work. Says the new ipad pro is much cheaper there than here. Would there be warranty problems buying one there? I'm assuming you can reset up to remove the Japanese and replace with english? Also have no intention of buying the add-on keyboard-case (would only buy the pencil) so would the native keyboard be with only Japanese characters?

Also eyeing the Panasonic Lumix TZ80 camera if anyone has opinions on that?! Guess a point and shoot camera a less problematic "foreign" purchase than an iPad?

Lose the box. If customs find the box when you fly back to the UK they'll know you bought it abroad and charge you VAT and import tax. Throw the box away and make it look 'used' and they won't notice. I'd lose the receipt as well, take a photo of it for your records. Highly unlikely customs will go through your stuff but it has happened.

I'm not sure abut Japan. But you can show your receipt at the airport in some countries when you leave and claim back any sales tax. I've done it myself in Thailand.

thanks - Japanese pay 8% VAT so would get that off at the airport. Just concerned that Apple might not honour a warranty?
I really fancy the stylus/pencil of the new Pro, but the Air 2 might be the better buy.
Is it true that there's no eraser on the new Pro?! You are half way through a design or drawing, make a mistake and have to undo the lot?

The warranty is worldwide.

It was only £35 cheaper than in the UK at the retailer OH went to (Bic?) so didn't get it. Will ask OH to look at the airport just in case that's cheaper.
The camera was about the same price as amazon here.
thanks anyhow

You don't need to loose it. Most just post receipts / boxes to themselves.

There's no rubber at the end of the pencil, but obviously you have one in the software, so you use it just like you would in Photoshop.

I'm impressed by the pencil, it's heavier than it looks, gives it a nice weight, and drawing with it, is almost second nature, it's so similar to using a traditional pen/pencil.

I highly recommend this for anyone who has the Apple Pencil

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...f_rd_i=desktop

Stops you losing the cap from the pencil and the female lightning adaptor

Good gadget/thing, just ordered one, now I need to find pencil clips, like the ones you find on "clutch pencils"
