You can, as long as you've upgraded to the latest version of iOS.

Go to the app store and search for "content blocker". There are a number of free solutions available.

I'm pretty sure Adblock Plus only works in Safari.

Adblock Plus isn't the de-facto ad blocker, despite what many people think.

Crystal and Purify are two content blockers that spring to mind - I use Purify myself and it works extremely well.

Focus by Firefox works well too, but to answer the op, not one of them works with Chrome as Stig said.

Until Apple opens up IOS, they only work with Safari.
