When I read the articles on Digital Spy, it feels like I'm reading Buzzfeed. A lot of articles have titles that says "10 reasons......". Eg: "10 things Johnny Carter missed when he was away from Walford". "The 10 all-time worst female soap villains, from EastEnders' Janine to Hollyoaks' Lindsey".

Some of their articles are really lazy because they copy and paste tweets from Twitter. I miss the old DigitalSpy articles. What do other posters think?

You should have written this out as "the ten most annoying things about the digitalspy main site"

I do not really use the main site anymore and it was one of the main reasons I ended up in the forums many years ago now.

The soap bitch article annoys me as it has Janine at 3 and Tracey Barlow at 2 wtf.

Janine pisses all over Tracey! Janine was a problem kid right from the start. Tracey was only turned into a bitch because Corrie were jealous of Janine and thats Daren Little's own words.

I hate it too, and so do many others.

The Buzzfeed style articles. The OK/Heat magazine style "OMG! WOW! NO WAY!" headlines. The clickbaity headlines. They've been regularly criticised in many of the forums for months, yet in typical DS style it's all been ignored and they've ploughed on regardless.

Whoever decided to implement these changes is an idiot and has wrecked a great site.

It's never 10 either. It's always 11 or 41 or an uneven number.

Like others said. Look at the homepage. It's cheap, tawdry shite.
"This gave us the feels". I've said before, I do think the site is written by school children these days.

It's lazy journalism to the extreme.

If a celebrity so much as breaks wind it's a featured article.

This whole "Must read" and "Most shared" business is also annoying. No longer allowing Facebook comments makes the whole DS experience rather dull and unfulfilling now.

Why they didn't launch didgespy.com for all the rubbish and keep digital spy the way it was I don't know.

I think they're attempting to chase a younger audience, but have a completely misinformed opinion of what will actually draw in a younger audience.

I'm age 26 so I may or may not count in this "younger audience" malarkey but these new DS articles insult my intelligence. I'd much rather see an article with a summary about what happened on one of the soaps, rather than an article that just consists of a bunch of tweets saying "OMG WHAT A BIG PLOT TWIST".

They had the website redeveloped by an intern, no reason an intern shouldn't be writing the content as well.

Journalism today is such a mess and I'd hate to be training to become one. With a lot being online now, most of it comes down to click bait. Digital Spy used to have articles of actual content, nowadays its just a total mess. It's not just DS, it's nearly every news site.

One thing I've noticed is there seem to be typos/errors everywhere in online news articles these days. I feel like I hardly see an article without a missing word or some other sort of mistake. It's obviously the pace at which journalism is forced to run now, but it's emblematic of what you're saying about the state of journalism tbh.

I have to agree, (sorry digital spy folk, who I'm sure are lovely people) the hideous modern approach to articles is done enough elsewhere, don't dumb DS down too

The most annoying are the "totally can't deal with" or "faces you've so made" or any mention of how 'twitter' feels about it.

It's the sort of terminology 90's american teenagers would have used (and it totally needs to STAAPH )

I hate how every other article is worded as something along the lines of 'Re-watch THAT EastEnders cliffhanger' 'Everybody's talking about THAT kiss' or 'Here's what Twitter thought about THAT shock twist' It's so annoying..

I don't use the main site anymore either. Those adverts that pop up are really annoying. And I struggle to ex out of them which is even more annoying! What a shame DS have ruined their own site. I so miss the old site!

I don't mind it as much as I'm guessing I'm in the target audience they're going for but it is a completely different site now.

Must also mention the abundance of articles about the same subject these days too. One episode of Britain's Got Talent generated nine supposedly separate stories last night. The Voice had no less than twelve.

If that's not overkill...

There must have been 40 articles on the last episode of the walking dead. I'm trying to avoid spoilers and they aren't making it easy
