OK Go's music videos
Dunno if anybody will be interested in this, but I just felt like giving OK Go a bit of appreciation. That's the US Indie band who are famous for the running machine dance routine video that went viral for their track Here It Goes Again..you've probably seen it on Rude Tube (you know the one):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTAAsCNK7RA And had a minor hit over here when Indie ruled way back when with their song Get Over It that sounded like a collision of Queen's We Will Rock You melded with Adam Ant meets US College Radio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BxfpbyV-uc What most people don't realise if this cultish Internet Band have done some equally superb videos to their other tracks across the course of their career. A friend of mine recently told me I had to watch their latest one for the appropriately named Upside Down and Inside Out...its on a plane in zero gravity...say no more...things get messy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWGJA9i18Co Other faves of mine, The Writings On The Wall: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m86ae_e_ptU Fun with Umbrellas and electrical unicycles, I Wont Let You Down: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1ZB_rGFyeU And Jeremy Clarkson would love Needing/Getting with the band in a reasonably priced car speeding around a test track twanging various instruments as it speeds past them to play the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MejbOFk7H6c If there was ever an award going for most bonkers all done in one take music videos this band would surely take it. Their music is great fun to listen to as well, I've always had a soft spot for them due to their British influences. An underrated band. |

They actually make more money out of YouTube than they do out of downloads/streaming or album sales, its all about finding a model that works for you in this weird musical climate.

I loved OK Go back in the day - their first two albums are great. I have to say, my interest in them has drifted in recent years but they do deserve some appreciation.

It's a corker isn't it zsb37105qtyz! I think they are all technical marvels. What I love about this band is how they have carved a niche out for themselves making this wonderful videos that have 50million odd views on You-Tube and the mainstream media don't even seem to know they exist. Brilliant how they have made a career doing this and a great example to aspiring musicians/bands of how you can have a successful career outside the mainstream.
