Any fans here?

Her new album the Hope Six Demolition Project is coming out next week. This is my most anticipated album of the year so far.

It's a little controversial because it addresses political issues in Washington, DC, Kosovo and Kabul.

I think she is an amazing artist who always is groundbreaking and does something different but still melodic and accessible.

I've always admired her, yet her Rock City gig I went to several years ago was one of the most earhole unfriendly gigs I've ever been to. It's as if she was going out of her way to be unlistenable.

Really? I have not seen her in awhile. I missed that gig. The last time I saw her was when she released Stories from the City Stories from the Sea which was a pretty accessible crowd pleasing album.

From what I've heard, this album is pretty listenable from a musical point of view.

I first saw her play at King Tuts in 1992, about the time Dry came out. It was a great gig, but there was probably less than 100 people there. Good to see how har career has developed.

Believe me, they made Nirvana at their grungiest sound like the Bay City Rollers. There was hardly a recognisable tune to be heard all night. A set from the same tour was shown on TV at the time and I think it's available on YouTube somewhere. Polly was looking her sexiest ever though.

Edit: this is it and I think it's pretty much the same set from what I can remember. Definitely not easy listening.

Oh, maybe you don't like harder grungier music from her. That's actually the PJ I love. I'm not so into the piano stuff she did on White Chalk or the folk of Let England Shake.

Love PJ Harvey and really looking forward to this new album.

Have to admit I love everything from 'To Bring you my Love' onwards, even 'White Chalk' which is a bit overblown at times

Saw her at The Albert Hall when she did 'Let England Shake ' wearing that fantastic crows wings headress thing on her head!

She can do no wrong in my eyes

I bought her Dry and Rid Of Me albums and unlike some people I really liked the latter's hard production. I wasn't all that taken by Let England Shake but it was an interesting experiment.

I normally like hard and uncompromising music, but I have to admit that the stuff she did on that video was far too tuneless for my tastes, especially when endured over an entire performance.
