Nexus 6P - more questions

Good afternoon

Loving my new Nexus 6P but I do have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find the information for online or in the user manual I tried to read.

If anyone has the answers would be great to know.

1. Battery Saver - ghastly orange header and footer - can I change the colour?
2. Ringtones - can I add my own ringtones by Bluetooth from my old phone? And if so where is the media stored?
3. Disable mobile data - can I add a shortcut to my Homepage to click into data rather than going through settings - data usage etc?
4. Does the wallpaper drain battery? I have a picture from Quickpic as my wallpaper and just wondered if I should revert to a stock picture if it reduced the battery life?

All fairly minor things but would be nice to know.

No.

Yes. Just transfer them across, go to settings -> sound -> ringtone then scroll to the bottom and click "add ringtone". Navigate to where you saved it.

Should be in the quick settings drawer, which you get when you pull down from the top of the screen.

No... unless it's animated.

Disable mobile data isn't in the quick settings. The only settings in there are Wifi disable or Aeroplane mode is (disables all radios - Bluetooth/Mobile/Wifi). I believe you can however press and hold the Mobile signal icon and it'll take you directly to the settings page where you can toggle mobile data (or at least it does on Android N)

Correct, however, since its an OLED screen, in theory choosing a full black background could actually save a bit of battery as the screen will not need to provide power to those black pixels, as they'll be fully off to display black - but who wants a boring black background.

Only sound & notification in settings and there is no option to add ringtone

Yes, if you root and install the xposed framework.

diable mobile data? try this to create a shortcut straight to the setting: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rtcut&hl=en_GB

power toggles will also give you a few options https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ss.pc&hl=en_GB

Battery saver - yes its orange, however to save battery go to Location in the settings, tap on the three dots on the top right, select scanning and turn off wifi scanning/bluetooth scanning, also change the screen time out to 15 seconds

To disable mobile data on Android M, just use two fingers to drag down, tap the signal icon and there's a toggle for mobile data at the top. Dead simple.

Ignore rooting and anything else to do with it. It's not something worth doing in 2016.

I agree that the OP should not go down the path of rooting but you are way off the mark if you think that root privileges, xposed framework and custom roms are not needed. Some people still need that stuff.

If you've added the required ringtone to the correct folder when you reboot the phone it should just appear in the availabel list

Sorted. Saved ringtones/music to laptop and then just dragged and dropped into ringtones folder on phone. Works perfectly.
