BGT Complaints (Already..)

Apparently, if you believe this, Ofcom have received complaints about the show ..

Quote:
“Viewers complained about the graphic nature of Moldovan Alexandr’s performance, which saw him hang upside down on a pole with a sword in his body.

And they also objected to judge Cowell taking the Lord’s name in vain and using the word “bloody” as he squirmed in his seat during Alexandr’s performance.

Ofcom also said that one viewer complained that the use of performing animals was cruel, referring to dog trainer Lucy Heath and her pup Trip Hazard.”

How can you seriously complain about the word "bloody" in this day and age ?

Ofcom must hate reality to shows as they bring out the worst in the terminally offended.
I struggle to see how these delicate little flowers get through life with the things they must see and hear on the streets

Some people complain about absolutely anything. It must be an addiction for them. Some things people complain about are just ridiculous! Instead of watching shows in the hope that something happens that you can complain about, just do something that's enjoyable. Don't watch the show if you think it's too much. People like that get right on my nerves.

If I was in OFCOM, I would be tempted to reply with one of my mum's old sayings:

Bloody in the Bible,
Bloody in the Book,
If you don't believe me,
Have a bloody look.

Bloody doesn't even register to most people, but you probably wouldn't say it in front of the vicar or the Queen, and you'd probably be embarrased if your 4 year old said it in front of everyone at a family gathering like a wedding.

Don't want the little ones to say it? Keep it off the telly when they're watching.

There were massive arguments about cruelty in dog acts on these forums last year so I'm not surprised that people have complained to Ofcom about them. I'm guessing that those anti dog act forum members are saving their posts for the live shows.

"taking the Lord’s name in vain"

Well just as soon as these nutters come up with the proof that their is this Lord, then they will have something to say. Who the hell do they think they are demanding what others can and can't say when they can't even prove this Lord exists?

These people genuinely bore me to tears.

Like, do something a bit more productive with your life?

Regarding the dog act, I imagine many people train their dogs to do tricks, like shaking a paw, or sitting (begging) for a treat. It's hardly cruelty. In days gone by it was exposed that wild animals were badly mistreated for circus type performances, but someone would have to have a very vivid imagination to think that such lengths would be used to train a poodle. Goodness sake. 🙄

Or in the case of Alexandr, grow a set and enjoy the edge of your seat thrill at seeing this ancient death defying skill. These astronomically entertaining men and women of danger and excitement train at great risk to their own bodies and health for years to entertain us all with further bouts of potentially life changing risk. The least people can do is appreciate them instead of turning toward more simpler acts like singing or dancing because you can't take more dramatic, more intense high octane skills that take true dedication and hard work. It is far harder and takes far longer to be an accomplished sword swallower or a high-wire trapeze artist than it is to be a singer.

I'm watching More Talent now and thought this thread had been bumped because of Stephen's comments to the Chinese man and asking the translator to translate what he said and completely disregarding it, I thought that was quite rude.
