EE - Where do you think Phil was taking Abi?
Was he trying to scare her or do you think he would have taken her somewhere and left her on her own with no way to get back? Or worse?

Throw her in the River Thames. Let people discover another whale escaped into the thames.

Maybe he was going to drive her to Tanya, or Cora?
Or maybe something else, he's an unpredictable sod is Phil (I loathe him) |

What didn't make too much sense was the way Abi instantly agreed to go with Phil. I suppose you could read it as a kind of consented suicide on her part. I'd think Phil probably had murder on his mind, perhaps by crashing the car and killing himself at the same time.

I don't know but it was a rather disturbing scene and I was relieved that the car was stopped before he could take her any further.
Actually, the whole sequence felt like some especially putrid male fantasy - The 'haughty bitch' girlfriend being humiliated and (literally) stripped of her dignity in public followed by the virtual abduction of a teenage girl by an older man who is capable of all manner of things and then Jay rescuing the Damsell in Distress (even wearing a white cardigan). Even for a situation that was bound to end badly, the way it was handled left a nasty taste in the mouth. |
