Why does this programme show more of the judges and ant n Dec as opposed to the contestants. I can't watch it, when they do that as you miss half of the acts. Really frustrating. The tv personalities are on tv anyhow so surely screen time should be devoted to the contestants more? Big grrr.

Completely agree! I want to see the contestants during their act but we hardly get to see them properly. I don't want to see the audience or the judges or ant and Dec. It is becoming unwatchable as the whole point of it is to see the act and not everyone except the act.

I agree.

I don't understand why Ant and Dec are there at the side of the stage pulling faces and making stupid comments when we are trying to watch and listen to the acts.

Also, I am sure there is fake audience applause and cheering added in. When you see the audience, most of them aren't cheering or clapping as loudly as to the degree that we hear.

I would argue that the George duo add nothing to the show....gurning doesn't count....amazing that they get around £100K per show....

Talking about the audience why do they now select a few members of the audience and we can hear them discussing the act's.They never used to do that and I find it completely off putting.

This was really annoying me last night. As you say we want to see the act. These cuts to the panel and contestants spoils it.

They've done that for a few years now.

The show is really badly edited. Last night's editing in particular, the act with the video game music was edited so badly you could barely tell what the act was.

Thats not an editors decision . Production will tell editors what they want and what they want shown
Its not bad editing its bad production

It's all part of the manipulation of the show. Ant & Dec are effectively the "nicer" fifth judge, but if they're taking the piss out of an act, so are we. If they're impressed, so are we. Because they aren't sat at that table, it feels more authentic as they're watching the acts with us, so to speak. Same with the audience - it's social proof. If somebody is in the audience and their feedback is broadcast, it reaffirms that audience members feeling the same are perfectly valid.

It annoys me more when they show the audience saying something stupid.

I was told by someone who's daughter was on the show last year that some of the shots of the audience are not from the actual performance of the act they are showing. It is sometimes taken from another acts performance. How naff is that?

Doesn't surprise me. A lot of the judges reaction shots are from completely different auditions too.

They already show so little of the actual performances that the never-ending shots of audience members' faces up close or the judges' faces during the performance comes across as annoying and that there is little talent in all of it.

If you watch closely you'll be able to hear loads of applause but behind the judges the audience are just sitting there, so who on earth is making the noise?
There's loads of incidents like that, it's not just BGT either, you'll see it in the X-Factor and the Voice.
They take their audiences for mugs

Its the same as all other 'reality' type shows. It's all largely fake.

The producers will already know the narrative they want to present before any acts have even performed. You often hear reports from people who were in the audience that acts went down quite differently on the night to what was shown on TV.

Knowing this doesn't stop me enjoying it, but i would prefer less fakery. That's why i much prefer the live shows where the fakery is of course still present, but much less so.

I still want to know where Simon Cowell bought his colour changing shirt from?

A couple of series' back, Simon had a black shirt on, then it turned into a light grey t-shirt, then back to a black shirt again? All within the space of 30 seconds.

Where can I buy one? I want one!!!

LOL

It wouldn't be so bad...but the people chatting tend to have the most hideous accents.

I hate it also when they waste time doing fake reactions and playing music to acts that are good but no way as good as they try and portray them and they drag it all out far too far when they could be showing at least another couple of people.

The ITV2 show of it seems to be a whole ego stroking affair for the judges with about half of the show going on about them like they are talent overlords.

I could have saved us all a good ten minutes at the end of Saturday's show - with the two singers at the end. I knew the teacher would get a no as a build up to the more downtrodden Kathleen the cleaner being"amazing".

That is SUPER annoying!

It's only been going on this past 2 years (last year and this I mean,) and they do it on X Factor too I think.

Whose idea was THAT?!!
