Price of Tesco Beef

What the hell has happened to the price of Tesco joints of beef?

All the way from the back end of last year, till up to about 2 weeks ago, you could get a 1.5Kg joint of topside/toprump for around a tenner. It's now selling at £15

What's going on, are all the other supermarkets the same?

Aldi, £5.69 per kilo. Price never fluctuates either. 21 day aged sirloin/ribeye both £3.09, what's more the quality is excellent.

The sirloin steaks in both Aldi and Lidl are absolutely delicious, and as you said, totally reliable.

Probably because in a few weeks it'll be on special offer, 1/3 off.

I buy my topside joints from the butchers, £8.28 per kg. Always tender and melt in your mouth, although my excellent cooking may have something to do with that. I would prefer rib but they don't sell it and don't want to either!

This.

They have to sell it at a higher price for a certain period of time before they can claim it's been reduced.
