We don't either, so I just have the weekend calls that were included in the package and make any non urgent 0845 calls then, if I can't find an alternative number.

There was nothing to suggest an offer on any of the packages, not even Infinty 3 and 4, which as far as I can tell has never had an offer.

I'm assuming some sort of mistake on the website for now. There's no reason those packages would drop in price so dramatically, well not that I can think of anyway lol

There is another major anomaly too - the BT sales pages for Infinity bundles says that it comes with 500GB free BT Cloud for Infinity 2 ('worth £100'), and 100GB free for Infinity 1. No mention of it being a special offer for a limited period. But my BT account says it's free for only 1 month, then £9 a month, and so does the new price list (I'm on Infinity 2 which already has 50GB BT Cloud as standard).

If it's a genuine free (permanent) add-on for new customers, you'd expect an option for existing subscribers to recontract to get it, too. But there isn't.

The new up to 52mb package with free calls anytime is ok for some but most people don't use there landline to make that many calls anymore. Like they used to.
Like in your house it's lucky if we make between 12 to 15 calls a month using the landline.
So only have free evening and weekend calls added to Infinity 2.
With my new o2 pay and go tariff I now get 750 free mins. Not that I may use all my free mins in a month but I will also mean I will use the landline even less for making calls. Plus dad don't make that many landline calls.
At lest 70% of what I do in the uses the Infinity 2
It's good though that BT have increased the speed of Infinity 1 so that pepole on or that want the basic infinity package can now do a little more.

My infinity 1 service only started last Monday, I was paying 23 a month on an 18 month contract (got free activation) at first the guy seemed to think everyone was getting upgraded to the new speeds on the 29th of the month, I said I didn't think that was the case so he logged into my account and checked and then said I was right and I would have to recon tract annoyingly I'd have to pay 2 quid a month extra but it would be only a 12 month contract rather than the 18 month so agrees and it's starting on the 19th

I'm on a retention deal, £11/month for unlimited infinity 1, so there's no way I'll be re-contracting and more than doubling my broadband bill.

Don't blame you, I was still only in the middle of my regular broadband contract so couldn't get a particularly good deal when I got infinity, got free activation which was something at least, having to recon tact at 2 quid a month extra did really annoying me but at least the shorter contract means I should be able to get a retention deal much sooner

When I recontracted my broadband and calls bundle last year, they confirmed, including by email, that all existing discounts would continue to apply until the date they would originally have expired. And they have indeed continued... here's the small print from their email:

“You've renewed your Broadband and Calls contract for 12 months. Even though you've renewed your broadband contract, any special offers for broadband that you've got will continue on the same terms you originally agreed to. If you've got a special offer that runs for a set period of time it will end on the date you originally agreed. The basic price of your BT Broadband won't change and that's what you'll pay once any special offer ends.”

So I'd check back on that point if I were you.

Thanks. Although recontracting would mean I couldn't negotiate a deal in 6 months time. I'd be basically locked in to paying full price for 6 months. Think I'll wait until my contract is up, hopefully get another deal and get them to up the speed then.

I'm all done, re-contracted last Friday and just ran a speed check and now getting a download speed of 52.45Mbps! Happy with that!

I pay around £15.75 for Infinity 1 unlimited and my contact ends in September... I guess I'll have to keep the low speed then?

I called them - they wanted an extra £8 a month and a new contract.

This should be an automatic thing really as an improvement to the services.

Interesting for me then. I signed up before they said about the new speeds. My contract does not start until 25th April. Will I get the new speed I wonder ?

I wouldn't leave it to chance. Give them a call and make sure you get the improved speed!
