@tdenson decided that 500MB allowances were a good example of why slow 3G is better for consumers than fast 4G

20gb is small ?? In whose world ?
Cellular isn't a replacement for wifi. It's additional. Three is now discovering this. |

Not necessarily a good example, but I was just saying that 500MB is not uncommon - it tends to be the entry level package so I guess a lot of people must therefore buy it.

But if you’re forced to go away from home for a while, and where you have gone to has no wifi access, what do you do then? 12GB is still ok for the All In One 20 (ex 15 with AYCE data) PAYG. As long as the price of that doesn’t keep increasing and the amount of data is not going to get smaller and smaller, the now All In One 20 will be alright. An All In One 35 (ex 15 now 20) with a pathetic 4GB of data per month for such a price in say 2 years time would be shocking to say the least. And 4G beats fixed line ADSL at home every single day. |

Easy to say just use your home wifi.

Not always, I've seen home ADSL at 18 and 19mbps, where 4G signal is only 0.5mbps. (on EE by the way, three is no service and vodafone is 10mbps!).
