I only pose the question because on Monday's EE Linda was seen in The Vic wearing a figure hugging dress that accentuated the fact that she's got a bit of a tummy on her.

I know Linda had a baby a little while ago, so post-natal tummy might still be apparent, although in truth she should have got her shape back again by now. Anyway, is there likely to be that much attention to detail on this show? Isn't it more likely that Kellie is either pregnant (she could be, she's still only 39) or maybe she just has a bit of a tummy and it's really nothing more than that?

I must admit I did think the same. Her waist was much smaller when she did strictly, in December. And when would EE have been filmed? Late Feb, early March?

My mother asked me this very question 20 minutes ago when she was onscreen!

We went through all this when she was on 'Strictly' last year!

She just happens to have one of those body shapes which is a bit thick around the middle - nothing wrong with that!

Whether or not she has recently had a baby, her tummy is nobody's business but her own!

I just think those types of clingy dresses she wears with that kind of unforgiving fabric are the most unflattering and hardest to pull off as they reveal every lump and bump.
i do wish Linda was given a better wardrobe.

I was thinking muscles. As we saw on Strictly she has a very gym-honed body and if you do a lot of stomach muscle work it can make them stick out a bit like that. People often thought some of the female pro-dancers were pregnant because they looked the same as Kelly! I bet if you felt her abdomen it would be rock hard.

Or she has IBS/constipation and because she's so slim we've noticed her abdomen swelling?
Or she needed a good fart?
Or she's due her period?

But like Sorcha says if that's a belly I'll quite happily swap it for mine

I don't like these kind of posts. Sorry but if an actor or actress looks different to how they normally do then people are going to comment. I even noticed this myself and then came on here and saw the thread. She does have a surprisingly big tummy for someone so slim; I thought it could be 'cause she'd had about three kids but no idea whether or not she has. I also wondered if she was pregnant but figured EE would have only shot Linda from the waist up if she was.

Haha what?! Well I don't and neither do most slim women. The post about it possibly being to do with muscle gym work above could be right though.

My mother said exactly the same thing. But then she also didn't like her dress. I thought she looked gorgeous!

Nobody is saying she looks fat for goodness sake, but she does look like she has a baby bump to me.

Either that or she has IBS and gets bloated from time to time. But she clearly has a bump of some kind and that clingy dress didn't make it half obvious.

I agree. It was quite noticeable with the dress she had on. Shows tend to be careful about showing bumps that aren't written into the story, so my guess would be that there's a pregnancy storyline coming up, or it's just muscle and the costume department didn't think it looked unusual or obvious.

Ahh, isn't it lovely when people comment on women's bodies as though they're cattle to be weighed up and measured?

I agree elly. I do
I often think we have a habit of saying everything we think on here.

Sometimes i see people and I think "oh they have a put on a bit of weight" as an observation and nothing nasty but i don't feel the need to post about it on a forum. Zero need.

You've completely missed the point, I think. People are only commenting on what they see (or think they see). No-one has said anything derogatory about her. I am happy for her if she is pregnant. The only reason I see it has any relevance is in wondering how they will write Linda out for 6 month's maternity leave if Kellie is indeed expecting baby number two.

Well, quite. It's human nature to notice imperfections but it doesn't need to go any further than your own head. I appreciate we're on a light-hearted forum, for the most part, but I still don't see the need to have a thread like this. It just feels very unnecessary to me.

No, I haven't. You've missed MY point. Western society deems it unattractive to have a big stomach: look at any awful women's magazine and they've usually got something on their cover about 'blasting' belly fat. So even if people aren't saying "Oh my God, Kellie looks awful", the implication here is that her belly is something abnormal that can be commented upon as though it's fair game. That in itself is derogatory. Unless Kellie IS pregnant (which I don't think she is), there is no discussion to be had, and there wouldn't be until she announces a pregnancy. It's perfectly natural for women to have a little bit of a paunch, and comments about it, even if they're not 'nasty', can still be hurtful. The actress who plays Celine in HO recently had similar comments on Twitter ("Is she pregnant? Her belly looks big in that tight dress!") and wrote an open letter to people to say that she found it hurtful. People don't realise the effect that these so-called "innocent" comments have on women's self-esteem.

I noticed the little bit of tummy too and wondered if she was but then thought it could be still a little bit of post baby weight. I don't know how long ago she had a child but why should she have got her figure back by now? Who are we to decide what she should or shouldn't have done in regard to this.

Supposedly it's the uterus that tends to make a woman's belly stick out a little, though the amount it sticks out varies so some women may have what looks to be a flat belly. I don't really know though.
