is it ok to microwave oven chips as i do and they taste ok but is it ok to do this ?

As long as they are thoroughly cooked and you like them, I don't see why not.

yes they taste fine if maybe not as crisp as oven cooked but apart from that they are ok.
i do this with waffles as well.

You can cook anything in the microwave in theory, the problem is cooking it evenly (apart from grapes. Grapes explode!). That's why some items of food say "Not suitable for microwave cooking", they won't cook evenly. Steak in a microwave, would be a terrible idea, for instance. To cook it properly you'd end up with a useless piece of shoe leather.

I wouldn't do chips in the microwave myself but then again I do scrambled eggs using the microwave so who am I to speak haha.
