Do some people interpret 3D images differently to others?

I have recently purchased a BenQ W1400 projector and whilst I didn't purchase it for the 3D capability, I was very impressed with some YouTube clips so spent £75 on a Sony 3D Blu-Ray player and some discs.

I just wondered if people can confirm what the Invert mode does? There is an Invert mode on the projector and on the glasses. When I first watched 3D, the effect worked well but there was a sort of flickering (possibly frame refresh?). When I pressed Invert AND pressed the button on the glasses, the flickering went away.

Is this because of the way my eyes interpret each part of the image and for some reason Invert mode works better for me? Or am I misunderstanding this feature?

Thanks

My understanding is it's to do with sync, that being if/when the pj drops briefly out of 3D mode when it kicks back in it fails to sync up correctly to left/right eye, using invert just swaps it back.

Can't comment on this 'invert mode' but certainly some people get more out of 3d TV than others.

I've worn glasses since I was 5, and my left and right eyes are so different from each other that they never learned to work properly together to form a stereoscopic image. One is long sighted the other short sighted.

If I don't wear my glasses I am only looking out of one eye or the other (the other sort of defocuses). Wearing glasses helps me use both eyes, but i don't think my brain ever learned how to do 3d properly.

With the old red/blue 3d glasses I could never see any 3d effect, so I was quite surprised when I watched 3d TV that I could see some depth to the image. But I never get any 'Wow!' factor, and I never see anything coming out of the TV towards me.
So buying a 3d TV would be a waste of money for me.
(never been to a 3d movie, so no idea how that would look to me)

When I hear people say that 3D is a passing fad and has no longevity, I feel sure that they must be seeing something totally different to me or they're not watching the movie on the right equipment.

Even though I'd seen it before, watching Avatar in 3D was like watching a different film. I was totally blown away. Watching Gravity is the closest I've ever been to being in space.

Admittedly, it adds nothing to some films(Harry Potter) but for others it adds a whole new level of enjoyment.
