I would be delighted to see a good rock band on BGT, but I really can't see many, if any, genuine rock bands applying. Even if they did, given that Simon Cowell's criterion for inclusion seems to be 'Would the Queen like this?', I can't see them getting past the initial auditions, and they wouldn't be shown on television, in case the viewers liked them enough to vote them the winners. Queenie wouldn't like that, and Simon has his knighthood to consider.

While I wouldn't like to see them banned, I think there's too many for what (I thought) is meant to be a variety show/auditions. The three golden buzzers so far are all singers, although I suppose one could argue that the older couple were voted for more than just the singing part.

What I think should be banned are the drawn-out backstories. Talk about a snore-fest. This week I think this especially applied to the Irish choir. Okay yes, I liked them, but they could have shown 2 or 3 other acts in the time spent on their pre-audition nonsense. And it's not as if the backstory was anything special, just them saying how much they liked singing and how they loved their teacher. Ditto for Kathleen (the last act); way too much stuff about her, all we need is the basics: where are they from, name, age. I'm sick of sob stories.

It also annoys me somewhat that we dont see the people that chat backstage perform. If they're interesting enough to show them, then let us see the act. I'd like more genuinely good stuff on the show and save the crap for BGMT. Like the Elvis guy, he was bloody awful.

Preach, The sob stories always BORE me. I guess I just prefer fun and funny people that do their own thing.

Is it me, but so far the series has leant away from singers.

Much prefer it that way, if I want to see cover-warblers, I can watch x-f, or just go to the pub.

So yes to a ban.Oh wait, I really liked that Sinatra-crooner lad.
Damn.

I don't think it has though. The 3 golden buzzers so far have been a child singer, a choir, and an older singing couple.

Yes what a variety.”

And something like half of that 30% will be dance acts

It's just so predictable. There's always so many singers and kids dance acts that get through, and when it gets to the live shows it just becomes repetitive and boring. Last year there was a great guy who did a trampoline act and he got through the auditions but was cut from the live shows. Couldn't understand why they didn't put him through but we had bland singers who were never going to win in a million years. Nothing against singers but we have other shows just for them. if they haven't got something quirky about them (like the couple last sat singing crazy in love) then just go on x factor or the voice. I'd rather see more variety personally.

I enjoy the singers, I'd say ban magicians and dogs. Way too boring!

You have no chance of serious rock bands applying to go on this show,if they did they would become a laughing stock.

My qualifications for saying this i go up and down the country to live gigs supporting the very acts that would lose all respect if they went on there.

Talking of singers wonder if uncle Simon is looking after this one.

A ‘confused’ Susan Boyle had to be escorted by police out of the British Airways lounge at Heathrow airport following a ‘disagreement with staff’.

I completely disagree. The X Factor and the Voice are purely looking for the next 'pop' singer. BGT accommodates the classical crossover singers who often do very well post show. There is a good market out there for artists of that kind and BGT is the only one of the three talent shows who really affords them that opportunity.

No singers should not be banned singing is a talent

So now we have 4 golden buzzer acts that are singers. Doesn't seem like much variety to me.

And what a waste of time with the whole set-up of Simon being late and David's mum filling in. Just an excuse to fill the show with crap acts and a lame attempt at humour.

No, singers shouldn't be banned. I especially like to see the choirs and opera/classical singers that come on the show. They are not really for X Factor.

None of the Golden Buzzer acts would have been eligible/suitable for either The Voice or XF so not sure where else they are supposed to go if banned from BGT

Britain's got talent would be so much better without singing acts. They have no place there what so ever. Wish theyd piss off to the xfactor.

That will be interesting seeing as kids in these shows cannot be criticised in any way...'everyone's a winner' don't forget

People have been complaining about singers on BGT and then Simon presses his golden buzzer for a non singing act and people are.. still complaining

singers shouldn't be banned.
Just those who are making a comeback after doing what a lot of the UK public have been through and siblings.

If they banned singers then the British entries will consist of a guy dancing with a brush and a juggling dog

Yes ban singers, we might actually then get some variety.
