Three Data Reward Pan

I just got a handful of Three Data Reward Plan PAYG sims from Three.

The Tariff is 3-2-1 PAYG, but once the card is registered with Three they give a free 200Mb data top up every month. Cash credit doesn't expire (they say) but the 200 Mb can't be rolled over.

The downsides are that data top-ups amounts have been revised. With no top ups you'll pay the PAYG rate of 1p per Mb. So £15 buys 1500 Mb, no need to buy a top-up, just keep the phone in credit.

A 30 day 2Gb top-up costs £15, saving a fiver a month. Still expensive compared to Monthly Contract plans. The current 3-2-1 PAYG tarrif gives a free 150Mb with every credit top-up.

The upside is that I have an automated data monitoring device which uses only 150 Mb a month. So if all this works as promised that's free data for that device with no need to top up. The sim needs to see a chargeable event every 6? months to stay live.

Otherwise, you'd need to be a pretty low user to benefit from 200Mb a month. But could be useful for us Windows Phone users with no apps.

The sim works in phones, wifi, dongles and tablets. Could be useful for granny alarms, data collection devices and SMS car alarms and trackers.
