The Aldi advert where the woman is in labour, then a fully grown fat guy who is supposed to be her son (she just gave birth to?) is like “mum, want a lift?”.

Just weird, creepy and unfunny. Not sure what the hell they were going for there.

Can't imagine they'd make the nappies it's advertising in anything like his size either

Ugh, I hate that advert as well.
I noticed tonight that Pampers are getting their own back on Aldi (who name Pampers in their ad). When Pampers show the pieces of blotting paper on the nappies, what is usually 'another leading brand' is actually named as the Aldi ones.

Gtech being on every ad break! I've noticed that they've dated the Daily Mail review they keep referencing. Goes all the way back to April 2012. We've put up with this bloody advert for FOUR F***ING YEARS!

And now they've got bikes too!

Smug young professional git drinking his Weetabix drink is back.
I noticed when he sits/drops down in his office there's a croissant and orange juice at each place on the table. Why have the f*cking Weetabix then?

The Go Compare ad. It's hard to tell which one's more annoying - the opera singer or the taxi driver who has never heard of price comparison websites.

The new Maltesers ad "Leaving". It's supposed to be light-hearted but the girl comes over as rather too bitter and vindictive.

As the insufferable "son" character is absent from the new Tesco advert, is this the first example of a company actually listening to the opinions of the viewing public? Or just a happy coincidence?

The taxi driver, because he doesn't even say anything. He just keeps saying 'Yeah' and 'Fantastic'.
Unlike taxi drivers in real life who have a lot of opinions they want to tell you about.

Yeah I have to say the new Aldi one is one of the strangest adverts I've seen in recent years, I happened to catch it the other night when flicking between channels and was left genuinely bemused after it. It's even crazier that somebody obviously thought this was amusing and would well represent the Aldi brand

The one with the fat builder and the man in high heels and tight shorts, cavorting in a gay way together is very creepy somehow!

See those two women in the Philidelphia advert set in heaven ("We don't want any extra cherubs, if you know what I mean") - are they supposed to be dead? That puts a rather darker slant on it.

Also the Aptimil ad with a boy jumping off a diving board then turning into a baby swimming underwater. Nothing wrong with the advert itself but the small text at the bottom of the screen says "Breastfeeding is best. Do not leave a baby alone in the water. Baby shown is over six months.". The first sentence is contentious; the second is so obvious it's bordering on stupid and the third is irrelevant.

No Problem. Keith Lemon is... sh*t!

Brilliant. I love it when one brand trys to get one over a rival, only for the rival to make a comeback.

This is some that is quite common abroad (especially in the USA and most South American countries) but is rare in the UK. The only UK one I can remember was a few years ago when Aldi (again) did an advert comparing their own brand low-fat cornflakes agains Kellogs Special K.

In the Aldi advert there is a fat man in a red dress (a reference to the fact that every Special K advert features a woman wearing red) who sits down between the Special K box and Aldi's own brand box, then there is the usual (at the time) aldi 'comical script':-

Fat Man in Red Dress - "I like this low-fat cereal (points to Special K with on screen price), and I also like this low-fat cereal (points to aldi own brand with on screen price). Still this dress is too tight."

Kellogs then did a Youtube 'response' advert. In the Kellogs ad there is still a fat man in a red leotard (played by the same actor from the Aldi ad), but also has what appears to be his wife in the advert.

Fat Man in Red Leotard - "I like this low-fat cereal (points to Special K with on screen note saying 'Priceless'), and I also like this low-fat cereal (points to cereal box 'own brand' with on screen note saying 'Cheap'). But lets be honest, what I really love is a massive sausage butty (stuffs face with Sausage Roll)".

In Walks Wife in Red Leotard

Wife - "Diets going well I see (sits downs to eat Special K). Oh and stop wearing my clothes. Your stretching them!"

I thought it was great to see Kellogs remake the advert and have a funnier joke, whilst getting a dig into Aldi via the 'Cheap' on screen graphic.

Sadly the Kellogs advert has been taken down by Kellogs, but the original Aldi one is still on youtube.

Found this article that goes into a bit more detail about the Aldi vs Kellogs thing:-

^^^^ Although this was more a mickey take rather than a response to another advertiser but didn't Aldi do their own version of the John Lewis man on the moon advert from last Christmas as well.

The current Moon Pig advert is the most irritating yet. "You are the loveliest brother I know" and what is the blank in this sentence??? "blank banana and monkey boy" I can never tell what she says.

Such good times. Not.

The Mr Kipling cakes ad. Where there's some sort of family gathering to see a couple's holiday photos, only they accidentally include some 'racier' photos (I imagine). It's so cringeworthy.
