Really surprised the hygiene/health risk issues wouldn't occur to JL's team when reviewing that ad prior to acceptance!

As if the ever-expanding Ruth Jones is going to refuse a box of mince pies at any point in the year.

The most annoying thing about that ad is that anytime it comes on it sets my brother off on his rant about how he tried to buy several things on there and none of the sellers ever got back to him. I'm more bored of the rant than the advert, and that's quite a feat.

Also, if that bicycle was buried in the leaf pile it would not be so shiny and new looking.

I dislike the Barclay Card advert - the one with the lady jumping up and down and the parrot. Not because it's an annoying advert (to me) but because the door bell at the end is exactly the same as mine and if I am not quick enough to change channels or mute the sound then Keith my cat goes ballistic thinking someone is at the door. After running around the living room in a manic panic he exits through the cat flap and takes half an hour to return trembling at the thought of a visitor being present - not the most sociable of cats is Keith.

I normally scream at the TV when ever that ad is on tell her for god sake settle down!

By the time Christmas finally arrived last year it just didn't feel Christmasy.
I'm hoping thats a one off but the very long and slow build up we now have is killing the excitement and fun factor for it.

That had me laughing out loud. Our cat, Poppy, is just the same with doorbells.

The sanitary product advert where the narrator essentially tells the free spirited young girl to be a sheep and follow the crowd.

I read a review about it early on where they made a point of saying how the installation involved a lot of cables. I didn't get the impression they had no Sky beforehand.

Just seen the new M&S Christmas advert with Santa and his wife. Santa looks like someone with a crack addiction who's just been released from prison after serving hard labour for killing kiddies!

I imagine Ruth has somewhere personal to keep them warm and safe until next month. The premature assault on the british shopper is tasteless and embarrassing in my view. Jeez cant the shops leave it another fortnight !

Stupid ads I think the soap powder companies who now tell us to keep the sachets and tabs away from children. Erm durrr I've been making lovely green coloured trifles with them this year and no ones complained.

Load of schmaltzy crap. Too long, boring, and pointless, and basically copying the John Lewis ad from 2011 (where the little lad appeared to be desperate for Christmas to come, so he could get pressies, but it was because he had got a fab pressie for his parents!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5RhP3H3G7w

The Boots one is annoying too. 'ready or not here I come...' Just a box ticker!

The Tesco one is marginally less annoying than the last few. Dunno what happened to this middle aged couple's 40 year old son though. They appear to be trying to make a cosy little TV family out of these individuals, but no-one cares about them!

I like the new John Lewis ad, AND the TK Maxx one! But can't see how it's advertising the stores and their wares. Also, nothing about the ads makes me want to go to the store and buy stuff from there!

Another 2 box tickers though!

There's even one where they have a child tell us to keep them away from them!

When will adverting agencies realise that using 'cute kids' being little smart arses is NOT cute and clever.

I'm looking at you Virgin Media and your excerable 'WE are the masters of the remote' ad.

Ah... when the kid says 'Always keep away from children' at the end, I assumed she meant I was to keep away from children. Well, I do my best to avoid children most of the time!!

That's why ads with 'cute' kids annoy me. Santander, with the blonde kid drumming and mum at the end rolling her eyes. Grrrr!

Not liking the mrs santa crap from M&S obviously making out the usual ' men are useless ' so she does all the work.

Or am I reading too much into it, why are they making Mrs santa sexy? I picture her as an old granny type knitting in a rocking chair.

I watched he 3 minute version earlier and I got that impression, useless men , send a woman to do it.

I still haven't seen an advert that holds a candle to Kevin the carrot , I wonder if Aldi will release a toy based on him? look at the panic and the exchanging of large sums of money for Mog the cat last year!
