That new ad for Kelly's ice cream.
I love ice cream and was interested in the ad for the first couple of seconds until it just became pathetically stupid and an insult to the intelligence.
I love trying new sweets and ice creams etc but I won't ever buy any of Kelly's on principle, after having to suffer that nonsense.

He needs sat-nav to tell him how to get to work

Probably because he is on the back of a trailer being towed by the camera car. So it's the camera car driver's responsibility to check it's clear

I don't get that one. Surely all runners wear their own watches/stop watches/monitoring device etc to get their own time. I've never heard of a runner asking an official what their time was when there would have been hundreds of runners in that race and the official is not going to know everyone's finishing time.

Besides isn't their usually a big clock at the finish anyway.

Forgive me if it's been mentioned & I dont' even know what it's advertising as it infuriates me so much - the one where kids are sulking in the kitchen because Dad has to selfishly go to work so the boy sullenly moves the clock-hands back & then they guilt-trip Dad into turning the clock back even more.

Then they all laugh, hug and celebrate making Dad late for work to spend quality family time spreading butter or whatever amazing fun they were already having.

well I made creme brûlée for a few dogs in my time and I always ended up without my trousers, but that's a tale for another day, or even a tail

Erm, the man in the ad was speaking both Cornish and English. As its Cornish ice cream. Its the first TV ad ever where that language has been spoken.

And it was in the news and well promoted.

I hate adverts where they use a very well known voice to add credibility, but then get them to say "We this and We that" as if they are a member of the company. Barclaycard and David Mitchell are current culprits.

Then there's the razor advert.

"You want to jump into the pool but then you think" (staged look downwards) "Am I beach ready"? WTF??

Oh yes. Bearded corporate slave gangsta wannabe in SUV. In white. And why is he parking anyway? Parents on the school run simply come to a halt in the middle of the road to disgorge their offspring.

As a Scotsman I find this advert very offensive. Its another one of those adverts that come from a London agency (Lucky General in case your wondering) and plays on the London stereotype of Scotland - tartan wearing, red haired, beard growing, bagpipe playing, shortbread tin, angry at the world, chip on our shoulder but cover it up with passive aggressive humour stereotype.

Also the fact they try an portray Michelle McManus as a beloved Scottish celebrity. She is, at best, a local Glaswegian celebrity. Outside of Glasgow no-one is interested. A quick look confirms this. As a recording artist she only released 1 album and 4 singles (2 of which failed to chart in the UK Charts). There was also her TV presenting career (all with STV - aka Scottish Television, which any Scot will tell you should be called GTV - Glasgow Television) hosting 'The Hour' on STV (think a cut price 'The One Show') This show was a mild daytime hit for 2 years, then STV decided to move this to prime time and drop an ITV show (I think it may of been The Bill, but I may be wrong). In primetime the show tanked and was cancelled after 4 shows.

This is nothing against McManus, it just she is the latest in a long line here in Scotland of a minor Glaswegian celebrity being misrepresented as 'beloved Scottish celebrity' by the Scottish Media (all based in Glasgow) and the UK media.

And I'm sure that any compaints made about the ad will be meet with a reply that, "The man from the agency that came up with the idea/was in charge of production is Scottish so it must be OK."

I'm sure they will be the occasional Scottish person who will like this advert and probably think the advert has been made to be shown only in Scotland, without realising this is a UK wide campaign and has been designed more for the English (and Welsh and Irish) to laugh at the Scots. Really it is quite pathetic!

Maybe Jack and Victor from 'Still Game' were otherwise engaged?

I know it will have been said 100 times on this thread, but the 'Doncha', Moneysaving Supermarket ad with the bloke sashaying down the street with his CGI fat-arse-in-denim-hot-pants, is extremely annoying.

It's even more disturbing now, as I think he resembles daytime trash-TV lawyer 'Judge Rinder'. Now I know why the esteemed barrister wears a long, black gown! (It's slimming.)

Don't forget the deep fried Mars Bars, these advertising agencies really earn their money.

I'm not Scottish but if I was I'd be well pissed off with that ad, talk about racial stereotyping, even the bloody Krankees are in it! This is what happens when not a clue ad agencies think they're being funny.
