For years I've wondered whether theyre actually a thing (according to the likes of QI they are), you can get deep fried Creme Eggs as well
I'm not Scottish, but I dont think the ad is funny - and plays on lazy stereotypes.

Though if more Scots bet against England the odds we get supporting them to win will improve, so hope it works.

The premise of the advert is flawed anyway. If Scots football fans want the England football team to lose, how is betting money on them to lose going to facilitate that? That would not be very canny use of your money - notice how I'm trying to avoid the stereotype of Scots being 'careful' with their money here!

Adverts for betting companies are almost always stupid and annoying anyway, coming up with different ways to persuade people to do an irrational act, i.e., to throw away their money.

Who the earth that that ad was a good idea

They are, invented at The Haven chip shop in Stonehaven (now called The Carron) in the mid 90s. I have a personal tradition of having a fish supper and a single mars bar every birthday.

but have you tried fried ice cream, I had a "Father" who taught me how to make them, the art is to get the batter just right so that when one drops them off a thin knitting needle the hole closes before it hits the boiling oil, if not one has a hell of a cleaning job when it explodes

Introducing an ancient and valued part of our language to millions of people?. Yeah, silly.

I dont think I've ever heard Cornish spoken before, I thought it might have been Welsh at first And when he mixed up Cornish and English, it reminded me of when I've heard Hindi spoken in films and they slip in English

I didn't know it was Cornish, so that's why I can't understand it! I just thought it was some leery cocky little tw*t talking some made up hipster slang,

For me the most annoying part of that ad is the girl whose face would turn milk sour when her mum drops her off and has the temerity to wave bye bye

Ga-la la la, gala, la la, hey hey hey, bin-go!

God that's infuriating!

And the new one with the woman in the cafe; there's something just not right with her face; the bottom half looks weird.

What ad is that? I have searched google and youtube, but the only Kelly's ice cream ad I can see has hardly any dialogue on it.

Plusnet! "You might as well become a full time off grid spoon whittler!" WTF is THAT about?
Idda

Plusnet is one of those long running ad campaigns which are inexplicable to me. They've never been any good, no-one likes them, no-one thinks they're funny or interesting and yet, year after year, they insist on trundling out that fat Northern git in some new scenario just as boring and unconvincing as all the previous ones. Ditto a million times for 118 118.

Hmmmm, I kind of agree PN aren't great, but I don't think they're any worse than BT or Virgin. We've experienced all 3, and they're all crap as each other LOL.

Same! I hate hate hate these breathy indie female singers. Too many of them by far, and they're almost always destroying classic songs.
