I appreciate your comment, but the nature of phobias, stress and panic attacks are that one can not " just get in the tube", one person in 6 can not, which is why they invented the "Open" MRI, which if the government are too mean to fund, I will have to out of my own pocket, even tho it will cost me 6 weeks of my meager state pension, my only regular income
I'd sit in there with you if you were near me. Quote:
I have claustrophobia too and can't go in lifts - well unless I absolutely have to. But your health is at stake here. A friend was telling me MRI scans are much better than they used to be and they can play music while you're in there. Phobias can't kill you, prostate cancer can.

Is there any chance of having someone with you in the room so they can sit by you and talk to you*, or at least so you know they're there?
I'd sit in there with you if you were near me. But at least I'm not as bad as a friend of mine, he is both claustrophobic and agoraphobic, he spends all his time standing in doorways. He was so upset that he tried to commit suicide, he took 40 Nurofen, he is now suing the drugs company, not only didn't it work but he woke up with a headache. |

Ellie Goulding’s hair is “STRONG” and “STRONG IS BEAUTIFUL”! Yeah, you get that message ladies? In case you missed it on the dozens of other adverts for various products aimed at you, which all say the same thing.
Advertisers really think women have a chip on their shoulder about this sort of stuff don’t they? They really go for the jugular with it, it’s way more blatant than when they try to target other markets. You know when you get that feeling advertisers think they've hit on some winning formula for selling, so they're just going to keep repeating it, ad nauseum? Heck, maybe it works and I'm just naïve, which to be honest is even more depressing. |

Continuation of: Worst advert on TV at the moment (Part 11)
That advert is weird with the babies on the beach acting like adults. It's kind of like a reversal of the Haribo adverts. And to top it off they are using some girly version of The Beach Boys: Kokomo as well. Quote:
Trivago ad where the Australian girl keeps telling us how to find a cheaper price for "the exact same room". There's just something about that expression ("the exact same") that irritates the hell out of me and she says it repeatedly in the ad.
Quote:
Exactly. In adverts today women can leer at men yet the following internet only Pot Noodle advert was banned (or withdrawn) for objectifying women!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZABflWv4GK8 To me the Pot Noodle advert is less objectifying women than the old 1990's Diet Coke '11.30 break' adverts objectifed men, yet those as are empowering. And the old Diet Coke ads are tame compared to some of todays 'women empowering' adverts. Quote:
That awful Jacobs cracker crisps ad with the bridesmaids miming to Black Box's Ride On Time. Dire advert. Considering the shape of their mouths miming, that ad will come back to haunt those taking part, mark my words.
![]() Another ad that gets on my tits is the new weetabix one with the dad and son doing an arm wrestle, and it's going through the years/generations. *YAWN* Borrrinnng! Because THAT hasn't been done before a dozen times! |

Propagandist filth. So patronising!

I dislike the bumper ads on the Discovery Science channel (were I get my Mythbusters fix) ad is for some casino/gambling site which shows how glamourous and great gambling always is. But it's not always great, is it... |

The ones I can remember off the top of my head: The one for a holiday company of two people on a funfair ride with Pulp's Year 2000 playing, the latest IKEA advert, the latest one for Mercedes with No Diggity by Blackstreet playing etc |

I have to remind myself - what is the purpose of an advert? Surely to persuade us to buy the product. So what to do if we dont like the advert? Simple. Take careful note of what is being advertised and boycott the product.. That's people power and will very soon produce results.
