New HSBC ad. Another of those 'aging through the years', this one featuring a bloke in a lift.

What is it with these bl**dy types of ads? Personally, I think what really winds me up about them is that it seeks to define someone's entire existence - and usually a cliched middle-class nuclear family - through time solely by their relationship to an all encompassing corporate entity. I just find them so depressing and limiting in their viewpoint.

I also can't stand those Tesco ads with Ben Miller and Ruth Jones. He's (what else!) the cliched 'embarrassing' middle-class, middle-aged dad with all sense of dignity or respect surgically removed from him, and she's the obligatory tragically smug Mum who always has to get the last quip in.

I hate ANY of those ads. Awful. Preying on peoples emotions and guilt tripping them. It's a well documented fact that most of the money collected by these 'charities' doesn't go to the people it's meant for. And if you DO sign up for them, you get hounded for more money. Older and vulnerable people are often bullied and ripped off by charities.
