OMG that's a TERRIBLE ad. Some bunch of halfwits come to the door with a freaky little puppet and say 'show him your energy bills.' So she does that, and the man says 'HE says you can save £200 a year on your bills..' Then the silly cow says 'where do I sign?!' in the most pathetic wimpy voice..'

I mean, as if that would happen anyway! Just signing up on the doorstep coz a bunch of numpties say you can save money on your bills. Even if I DID open the door, I would tell them to jog on!

The "39 of 42 agreed" captions. Sometimes it's not always obvious what part of the narrative the caption is supposed to relate to, I'd prefer to see a fully written explanation of what their "survey" results were.

They are stupid! Only asking 88 people, or 49 people is a poxy survey and means nothing IMO.

Another vile advert I would like to mention is the one for CORSODYL... (When they show someone SPITTING into a sink, and there's blood in it!) FFS, why do we have to SEE this?! And why it always at bloody mealtimes?!

Indeed, there's no mention of how many were asked. Perhaps they asked 5000 people but only 42 responded and of those 42, 38 stated an opinion.

And we also need to know the exact details of the criteria. Perhaps they were asked "If you washed your hair with this product, do you expect your hair to be cleaner than if you were you to wash it with crude oil?" and 38 of 42 agreed, rather than just "Was your hair cleaner when you washed it with this product".

Otherwise it's completely meaningless.

One of them brilliantly described in an earlier incarnation of this thread (which I've just searched out and realised was over a year ago!) as "an extra smug Ken Barlow"

With all surveys you have to ask who commissioned the survey, who carried out the research, how much input the client had into the questions that are asked and the way they are phrased; and perhaps most importantly, where the respondents "bribed" with free products to give positive reviews.

Not knowing any of these things, but being suspicious by nature, I'd treat such numbers with contempt.

On the Jeremy Kyle foxy bingo advert breaks there's two woman at a spa with face masks on. The woman on the right is so out of time with the woman on the left its unreal that they didn't reshoot. Firstly when they take the cucumbers of their eyes and look at each other the woman on the right reacts so much later than the other. Also when they are swaying their arms left to right it seems the woman on the right has forgot how many sways she's meant to do as she starts to sway right until she realises the other woman has pushed forward. It bugs the hell out of me every time it's on.
