eh hem, in many countries, my own for example we use Y M D formula
and altho sequence M D Y is used primarily in the United States and, to a lesser extent, in Canada. This date format was commonly used alongside the little-endian form in the United Kingdom until the mid-20th century and can be found in both defunct and modern print media such as the London Gazette and The Times, respectively. ![]() |

.... As for M D Y format, I am sure that has never been used numerically in the UK. Did you mean in words, which is not a problem, ...
There's definitely threads about this somewhere in GD though I suspect these will primarily be about 'being right' with facts being somewhat secondary as they usually also involve arguments about the metal with chemical symbol 'Al'. |

The Aviva Drive app. Challenge your family on how to drive.
And who's the winner? Well, there's no suspense because there's only been one advert made, so it's bloody Malki again. And what sort of stupid name is that for an old duffer like him? |

The ORAL B advert that's been on twice during 'life on the dole' is awful. The girl on it has the most stupid face, the ugliest mouth, and teeth that have clearly been whitened.
Pathetic. |

Pretty much all toothbrush/toothpaste adverts have actors with unnaturally white teeth, I'm amazed they're allowed to do it.
I contacted trading standards but got nowhere These adverts which claim that a whitening toothpaste can have the result shown by models, who obviously have had professional whitening, should be fined for making false claims. The advertisers should be forced to show a prominent notice stating that toothpaste can only have a limited whitening effect, and in order to get the results shown, professional whitening is required. That won't happen, though |

I'm a bit concerned about the girl in the SCS adverts, as she and they haven't been seen on my TV for a couple of months.
I thought they had a year round sale?? |

I came here to specifically mention that advert. It annoys me for a different reason - the woman says she wanted to make her mum's birthday special but then goes on to say she only ordered the card yesterday - if you wanted to make your mum's birthday special, wouldn't you plan it a bit sooner than the day before?!

I'm not sure if it is the worst, but it gets on my nerves.
The wooden furniture one with the two blokes in, and whistling to Knock on Wood. I hate whistling. It reminds me of little fat cheeky chappy type guys who get on my nerves. And what the hell is Chris Akabusi doing prancing around in that mousse advert like a loon? He must have a very good sense of humour to do that. |

But well done Malki for bucking the trend and being male in an advert that's competent and actually won something over females. |

That bloody Sunlife ad came on again with that woman from Coronation Street.
I dont care who you get to do the advert I would never sign up to some crappy company who effectively steals your money if you pull out at any time. |

Tesco maze advert: ineffectual male gets family lost in maze; females share a "typical hopeless man" look; female child saves the day, leading man by the hand out of maze.
Don't think I need make any further comment except (1) the "aunt" (Ruth somebody, I neither know nor care) gurns out the smuggest face ever (quite an achievement in adland) and (2) good luck to gender traitor Ben Miller trying to resurrect any credibility in his future career. |

What a terrible ad. Anyone who says 'Booooom!' deserves to be locked in a soundproofed cupboard for all eternity.
