There are a lot of ads like that making men look bad.

The worse for me is a drink drive ad where the wife rings her husband up to pick her up. He has had to much to drink so says no. He is then made to sleep in some sort of room or dog house as they say because he refused to drive while drunk. That makes me fume What message is that sending out!
Can't stand the drink-drive one, terrible advert Poor bloke is punished for doing the RIGHT thing by the wife/girlfriend

It isn't so much that the ad's endorsing her attitude to him, that's irrelevant, it's just to enable the strapline gag "In the doghouse - but alive". It's part of a series of ads with the "..but alive" punchline and I think it's quite a good idea.

I remember it, loathed it and always found Donovan creepy. But as I loathe Heineken as well, and therefore switch off their ads, I've managed to avoid Mr. D. Thanks for the warning.
Oi. As a fellow Scot, I have to defend Mr Leitch. He made some great records in the 60s/70s.

i remember Donovan was touted as the British Bob Dylan -
No need to be smug, I am a Dylan fan and also a Donovan fan. Donovan made some classic tracks in the 60s/70s. Many of which have stood the test of time.

The old woman on that Citroen advert..."I have style" - you really don't love.
Is she supposed to be someone?. I cannot be the only person in the UK bemused as to who she is.

I heard a young girl saying recently ' you know you've made it as a group if your music is used in an advert' I completely disagree and it's always been a sell out.So sad to hear the lovely Jarvis Cocker, even though I love to hear him.
Only if you believe the nonsense that rock and roll is about rebellion. Its been about money since day one. There is no such thing as selling out.

Iris Apfel. She's a nonagenarian interior designer, socialite and general "fashion icon".

Just seen a weird ad for Always.
Shot in POV, walking through Circus tent backstage.
Handed a pad and puts it inside underwear.
Then gets on a trapeze and does tricks.

Call me old fashioned, but when I watch a Circus performer the last thing on my mind is anything to with their bodily functions or gynocology.

Can you imagine if it was a man being given Immodium before getting on a trapeze ???

i wasn't being smug, i just thought it laughable that anyone could be compared to Bob Dylan - I too like both and they both had good records, but I'm sorry, Donovan was no Bob in my opinion - thats all I meant

A new a Staples one, where the woman says her kids are "going back to school tomorrow" and the employee's voice doesn't match his facial movements.

Appreciate the explanation which enlightened somewhat, but this particular bit - I had no idea people had to do their own background checks nowadays, presumably though that's part of reducing admin costs.

Or "yes, I'm good for it, see this thing I got off the internet says so"
It's definitely to reduce admin costs. I've worked in places where, in making financial decisions, we've had discussions over the phone with people, and trusted what they've said, since sending in proof of certain things is going to take an age to get processed. Conversely, some people will ring up and be honest... drop themsleves in it... and then wish they hadn't phoned up at all.

It baffles me how credit companies, solicitors, loan companies etc very often resort to really stupid, daft adverts. They are selling services regarding subjects that really shouldn't be taken lightly.

I remember one of Amigo Loans' first ads featured two people impersonating Mexicans, dressed in ponchos and sombreros, with a donkey involved in there somewhere - who in their right mind would borrow money from somewhere based on that? If their advert doesn't take itself seriously, then I would avoid their company.
Sounds a bit dodgy about the donkey

Just remember the sage advice of Lionel Hutz:-

There's the truth (Shakes head and frowns) & then there's the Truth (Nods head and smiles).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc6tmYYhOUU
Gotta love Mr Hutz.

I'd switch to O2 in a heartbeat if all my texts were read in Sean Bean's voice.
One does not simply... have their texts read out in Sean Bean's voice

Although I found it amusing originally, am now thoroughly fed up of the two girls discussing broken beads and snogging!

But that is not what comes across.

I see that she barates her husband for not driving while drunk. That overshadows the "but alive" part which tbh I had not even noticed.

James smugface Corden and his advert, really grates and seems to be on several times every evening 😡
That advert is constantly on ad neaseum. I cannot stand the eminently punchable smugfaced tit.

EE/BT sport

As if wooden football managers and players aren't rich enough, can we perhaps charge less for our phone calls instead of paying a manager thousands to say "Bidily Bong"

Can't stand the new McDonalds ad. The music is irritating too. And if all that isn't bad enough, Little Mix turn up 😡
