The new Sun Life advert angers me. "She didn't have a plan for her funeral, her poor family" - This is basically guilt tripping the elderly into signing up. Appalling.

Not an ad strictly speaking but I end up feeling sorry for the cancer cells in the Stand up to cancer trailer, which I don't think is the intention.

1) Harringtons dog food ....it's on every 5 minutes! Does my nut in tbh.

2) The baked beans one where they're bashing the tins. It's so corny.

3) The shredded wheat one - what the hell does it even mean?!

The Vodafone ad with that annoying ''I feel free'' music, also featuring the annoying bloke with the big, bald head and black beard from the Purple Bricks duo as a postman.

Don't even know what it's advertising but the one where the bloke nearby sits on another blokes lap and says "I thought you were a chair".

What on earth is that all about? Can someone explain it to me please?

Quite agree, basically, if one can afford those payments, then one probably will be able to enough that one's children won't have a problem, or at least would have had enough if one hadn't paid all those payments.
If one couldn't leave enough for on's burial, then one probably can't afford to keep up the payments.
It all goes back to the old fear of having to be buried in a pauper's grave, when I was a child, old folk went without food so that they would could leave enough to make sure that wouldn't happen, they were the same about the Workhouse, they starve themselves so that they didn't have to go into a Workhouse.
BTW the last Workhouses closed in 1948, closed by the Labour Government

the Yakult ad, OK already we get it, it's yet another form of sour milk, we don't need the Japanese translations, they are almost worse than that patronizing idiot who normally makes inane comments

Saw an ad for Pedigree Chum recently that made me un-easy. It has a 10 (or thereabouts) year-old boy, on a stereotypical rough high-rise estate, who's got something in his jacket. A bunch of similar age kids approach from behind him and the leader shouts "Oi ! Wot you got there !" Lad turns around nervously and it's a cute little dog. So naturally, all the supposed bullies fall in love with it. The implication being that they think 'Hey, this kid's not so bad' and decide not to rob him or beat him up. The tag-line is something like; 'Dog's bring out the best in people. Pedigree Chum brings out the best in dogs.'

I don't know what's worse. The un-settling imagery of the lad and the gang of ASBO's, or the idea that having a puppy with you will make bullies instantly turn into big softies.

'Dogs bring out the best in people'. What an odd line to use. I'm sure they do in people who have a fondness for dogs, but there are many who don't, are allergic to them or see them as nothing more than toys to be abused, and all the Pedigree f*ckin' Chum in the world isn't going to change that.

I detest all of the SunLife ads. The acting in them is just SO bad? and the way the ads are designed. The first one has the mother & daughter talking to camera. It's not that well-edited, because at one point daughter's and mother's words overlap, when the daughter comes in too quickly with her line. It doesn't sound natural, it comes across as a mistake. And they kept it in.

Next ad has them sitting watching Parky on the TV and then the same story about Barbara "caused no end of heartache" is recounted to the man (is he the dad? an uncle? a visiting neighbour?). They don't speak to camera, which sits at odds with the previous one. Anyway - his acting is even worse. Totally totally awful

And now there's a new Sun Life ad - for all the family! Arrrghhh!

The advert is for MacDonald's breakfast (no, really) but I have no idea how that relates to the sitting on someone else, probably something about not starting the day off well.
