I seem to recall a fair amount of coverage for 'Game of Thrones'
I'm reasonably sure the popularity of Game of Thrones is in fact due to a frequent *lack* of coverage...? I think one or more of the Spartacus ones owed a lot to that too...

And noting reports that porn traffic drops when GoT is on

That Homepride advert for their new cooking sauce.

Is that how "y'all" think Americans speak?

I love these ads, they are just such fun.

Not seen the Apple ads yet but anything with James Corden is gross.
Well, we will have to agree to disagree on the Money Supermarket ads, but I am with you on the James Corden ones!....can't stand him!

True- but as of Today "Westworld" hasn't been transmitted, yet I see endless posters,
newspaper ads, and TV and internet ads for the show. It has become very irritating. While GoT got pre-transmission hype, I don't recall such hype ever getting to the level "Westworld" has reached.

Apologies if this already been mentioned, and that it is slightly off topic, being neither the best nor the worst ad about at the moment, but could anyone tell me where I've seen the actress before who appears at the end of the new George Clooney/Ian McShane Nespresso ad? It is driving me up the wall.
It's Nicola Duffett. She was in Eastenders playing Debbie Bates for a while in the nineties and she was also in Family Affairs among other things.

The ASA, apparently. But what are you objecting to exactly? The portrayal of women or of men?
Er .. Men being treated like shit by woman. I thought I made that clear in my post.

Yeah, but when men are treated like that, or assaulted by women, it's funny isn't it(?)

Bloody DETEST those cretinous Nationwide ads!!!! Aaarrggghhhhh! (insert all your favourite expletives here). DETEST all three of them that I've seen.

Some woman yakking on (I thought that one was an ad for a cancer charity - but NOPE), the guy on the steps reciting his street poem (tedious), and the worst of the three, the guy in a coffee shop (Overacting Central.com - plus what the hell IS he on about?)

Who thought these ads up?
Agree they are so bad, just seen that coffee shop one and at the end realised it was an ad for nationwide, what the hell is he going on about and what has it got to do with a bank. confused:

Shouldn't wind me up but when coffee shop guy says I'll come round for a knees up and a brew I'm shouting make your mind up its one thing or another. It makes no sense, a proper knees up does not involve tea drinking!

Now I notice Natwest have got in on the act. We have bailed these gits out for mis-managing money but they think they can show some moral preachy high ground. Give me a break.

McDonalds and Boots for their awful cover versions of Rhythm of the Night and Everybody's Free respectively. What is it with advertisers and their obsessions with twee, uninspired covers of songs? Having said that, you can bet the cover versions will probably end up doing well in the charts.

I despise that these pieces of ad shit do not give a toss that they might ruin a classic song, a song that someone has listened to and enjoyed for decades, but can now long stand to even hear the first line of it because it has been prostituted and ruined by money grabbing barstwards who think they are fekking clever!

Bugs me too that he/the scriptwriter doesn't know what the term 'knees up' means. Everything about that series of ads bugs me.

In all fairness I haven't seen anything to do with 'westworld' the first mention of it for me is in here

The AO ad with the incredibly middle class young couple...
Well of course the working class are buying their stuff from Brighthouse and paying exorbitant interest for the "must have" piece of kit.

The upper classes will be off to John Lewis and Horrids!!

There are three of them?!

The only one I have seen is the idiot blethering on about dressing gowns and faded mugs. Utter rubbish and I could cheerfully slap him.

AWFUL stupid hideous advert.

Who the hell would NEED to switch on their heating when they're away from home? Just turn it on when you get in!

Why not have an app to switch the telly on when you're out too, so you don't have to go to all the trouble and hassles of switching it on when you get in! *rollseyes*

Well, we will have to agree to disagree on the Money Supermarket ads, but I am with you on the James Corden ones!....can't stand him!
I think he is OK, but this ad with him in is AWFUL!

There's an advert for a small car that seats 4 and the premise is that you'll forget there are back seats.
Three girls and one gets out so the driver starts dancing badly forgetting her friend is on the backseat and she starts filming.

IN PORTRAIT!!!

As a Queen fan, I'm now fed up of hearing their songs on umpteen different adverts.
I never thought I'd see the day when I muted their songs.
