Doctor Who Spoilers & Information (Part 3)
Continuation of: Spoilers & Information Beginning to Come In (Part 2) Quote:
The new companion won't be in it apparently. It's seem's like a wasted oppurtunity, so now episode 1 will have to be the usual 'doctor lands in 21st century earth where the companionn spends the episode doing stuff that convinces him to take them with him' episode, and we won't get a proper time/space episode until episode 2. |

Hmm. First glimpse...not impressed. There's just something about her feet. They just don't engage me, somehow. Already a bit disappointed, frankly.

They look too feisty and unimpressed to me... and yet another companion with two legs.

There's no actually going to be some Doctor Who news is there
![]() It would be nice to see a companion that doesn't fall under the young/mid 20's female (such as Donna) but I don't think Moffat would do that so am fully expecting the actress revealed to be the new companion to fall under the same group.... |

People with inside knowledge would be betting on this. Pearl Mackie is almost certainly the gal.

And by that logic wouldn't Capaldi have been better odds to be Doctor? |

No they wouldn't, they'd be out of a job faster than the Angel's can move when no one is looking at them.
And by that logic wouldn't Capaldi have been better odds to be Doctor? Capaldi may not have been an odds on favourite (I can't recall) but he was certainly up there prior to the announcement. So the word does get out one way or another. |

If it's Rakhee, then you've got an actress in her 30s but I really don't get why people have such an issue with the companions being 20 something characters. They've mostly been that way since the show's beginning and we do get older companions from time to time. I just want them to be well written, engaging and work well with Capaldi's Doctor.
They did it with the Doctor and it's paid off as far as I'm concerned... and whilst I wasn't a huge fan of The Husbands of River Song, the episode simply shone when Capaldi and Alex Kingston were put in a room together and just given dialogue to work with. Granted it's not about their age, rather than their chemistry, but it certainly didn't hurt having two actors of a similar and slightly older age on screen at once

And by that logic wouldn't Capaldi have been better odds to be Doctor? Richard Molesworth, who was a producer on Doctor Who Live: The Afterparty (the Day of the Doctor post game show) has said on gallifreybase it's not possible to keep reveals on shows like that secret, dozens of people working on them need to know the running order. It's naive to think there's not insider betting on this. And oh look, Pearl Mackie is the new companion. |

Isn't it a bit self defeating for bookies to do who will be the companion bet, as those who know can make a killing out of them

Doctor Who Magazine @DWMtweets 4 hours ago So Series 10 has begun filming in Secret..A new Doctor Who Magazine is out this week, in which exec producer Brian Minchin tells us how they started making the next series in secret! Then they just spoil everything near the airdate anyway. |

Making doesn't equal filming.. its most likely just the production stuff before filming.. which is hardly a surprise/secret... unless its in regard to filming the skit to introduce the new companion....

Unless of course, it has been labelled that way by mistake, but then Im sure I saw on a thread the other day that doctor who magazine has also labelled it that way, and if it were a mistake, surely the bbc would have changed the description on the website by now. |

The 'skit' which everyone keeps reffering to as a 'skit' as though it's point of fact, despite official sources such as the bbc themselves actually stating that it is 'an exclusive scene from a future episode of doctor who' which would mean that filming on the series has started in secret for whatever episode this scene is from.
