Personally I think that Missy being the Master was a huge mistake. I see no reason why she needed to be. I find it difficult to connect her to the Delgado and Ainley versions of the character. Even if Missy wasn't connected to the Master she still would have been one of my all time least favourite characters in the programme.

I don't know, her appearance in The Magician's Apprentice has done much to warm me to her. The anti-doctor nature of her pairing with Clara and the more malevolent and blunt way in which she educated her seemed to me to be more in line with how Delgado's master would have done it (sans accenting and zany quips), as does her describing the complex "friendship" she and the Doctor share, not to mention her on-a-whim betrayal of Clara at the end, just 'cause.
Whilst Michelle Gomez hadn't seen classic Masters before making her debut, she had gone back and watched some Delgado etc before series 9 and I feel that there is a distinct difference in her performance which is informed by her predecessors

The Christmas trailer has lot of shots on Bill and a glimpse of a Dalek according to GB posters.

I'm sure Moffat does his own audience research sometimes.
I would ! ![]() Anyone in a position like SM's should leave it to proper audience researchers and pollsters. And then go and do whatever he or she was going to do anyway! ![]() Pollsters results should be "guidance only" in the broadest terms possible terms. If a creative feels the need to overrule, then so be it. If it fails then, at least it's that creative's decision and he or she can take responsibility. |

Well if he does he certainly will get a distorted and twisted view of the reaction to his stuff. Only the vocal minority (both for and against) self select and post on forums like this. Forums like this are not representative of the majority at all.

It no doubt annoys every on-line mouth piece who thinks that by opening a Twitter account they are automatically the new Pauline Kael/Nancy Banks-Smith/Mark Kermode, but you can be sure most creatives who ever engaged with social media critiques soon learned to filter most of it out and return to the old school approach of checking the papers, as theatre performers and actors have always done in the past. In which case Moffat can be quite pleased with himself because while @iLUVROseTyler95 might be tweeting the most offensive bile likening him to Satan and threatening to shoot his kitten if he doesn't bring back Meta-Crisis Tennant, most reviews for Moffats work range from Good to Great to Amazing. So I am sure little sleep is lost over the inane chattering's of the Twitter echo chamber. As for forums-it would send any writer insane. Certainly any writer considering even working for the show would be wise to run a mile if they had read this place over the past 12 months.

For those wondering how involved Nardole will actually be, i've just seen an article from a few days ago, in which Moffat says:
“He was contracted for certain episodes [of the 2017 series], and he’s crept into far more of them. I think he’s going to end up being in all of them, in fact, because we love him.” Link: http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/series-...man-companion- 82018.htm The article also says that the Christmas episode is a chance to 'slightly reconfigure him'. Personally, I have no strong feelings about the character so far. Last year, he was supposed to be a one off side bit of comic relief, and he fulfilled that. Now, he will be being written with more scope, as he is being intended to be a prominent member of the series, so I will wait and see before making any judgement. I think in theory at least, it'll be nice to have a regular companion who is non human and not from 21st century earth alongside a companion who is all of those usual things. I do wonder about the head question though. Obviously people who pay attention will want that explained, but after a year I don't think they'll want to give to much focus to it, and bore the casual viewership who would have likely already forgotten the details of last years special. The article suggests it will be addressed in some way though, which is good. |

Take this with a grain of salt but apparently these might be the episode names which were leaked.

Open mind as I remember muggins here thought leaked titles for Series 8 were unlikely to be true as I wasn't convinced by Robot of Sherwood and Mummy on the Orient Express. Whoops. I don't think the Gattis episode title is likely (despite the *legion* of Sleep No More fans out there!)...so it's probably true then. Yeah, I've heard something about emojis too. Maybe it's a planet with giant 's running around attacking the oppressed 's. That'd be pretty

Of course, as always, it could sound like the worst episode ever and be amazing, but being penned by someone who's last episode (In The Forest Of The Night) is regarded by most as either the worst or one of the worst in new who doesn't exactly inspire confidence. On another note, i'm wondering how many people will be up in arms if the Gatiss episode title turns out to be true. I personally am OK with sleep no more (nowhere near the best ep's but nowhere near some of the worst either in my opinion), but I know there is a lot of venom for it around here. |

I cringe at an episode with the title like 'the emoji planet' because even on it's own it sounds like something better suited to an episode of a cbbc show, but then, when I see on that link who's actually supposed to have written it, it definitely sounds like an early contender for worst episode of the series if true.

But an episode about emoji's, that is just something so ridiculous that it will honestly take me out of the story before i even see it. |

Gatiss did say last year that there was a sequel to the eye sleep thing monsters. The title for that is very unconvincing though.
http://doctorwhowatch.com/2016/12/11...-will-be-made/ Could be lying of course but i'll believe him for now. While there are a few correct titles on the list i'm guessing the rest are just made up from rumours and thin air. |

Sony have an emoji film coming out, so presumably have the rights, meaning it's unlikely to be a Who title.

The titles literally refer to the few bits and pieces of genuine information about Series 10 at the time they were concocted. Apart from the first and ninth episodes the others literally riff on the scraps of info. They're either not viable titles, or sound so generically 'fan fiction' that they're just not ever going to be what the show goes for. Factoring in the various typos too, and the fact that the list also doesn't include all of the writers (Peter Harness) and that one of the writers had already said this is false information... There's just minimal chance of truth to any of it apart from the readily confirmed. I mean, what are the chances that the episodes already filmed would ALL have titles that directly refer only to the minimal amounts of content we've already seen?

The only titles that are genuine are A Star In Her Eye, The Haunted Hub and The Eaters Of Light. Rest of them are fake.
