In the end, we settled on a girl of color who can act. The bad news is that she is in her twenties! She is physically small, but I personally think it will be a stretch to try to convince people that she is a tween or young teen. We may have to rewrite the part."

We’re not sure if a girl in her twenties will make a good foil for the tween star of the show, either, but it seems that they have to make this strange quota thing work.

It's not quite that, but the Trump presidency might buck the recent trend for the Democrats and Republicans to enjoy holding the presidency for two consecutive terms before losing out to the other side. There was some professor guy on the radio the other night who has called it right at the last few elections.

He seems to have promised to much to so many - especially jobs - that if he doesn't deliver, which might well be the case if his new economic strategy goes tits up, he will be out on his ear and the voters might be so fed up, they will go for a Democrat.

The real problem is that both parties have enough of their own men and women after the top gig to have much liking for an interloper from Tinseltown. Despite the jokes, Reagan had good and solid political experience, including as governor of California, before being elected POTUS, and was a politician not an actor when he got the job.

According to imdb he has been acting over the last 3 years so he doesn't tick all the boxes.

It's meant to be Stranger Things but as usual Blind Gossip don't know shit and just make it up from news already out there. Netflix is notorious for NOT getting involved in things like casting. Plus there is already a character of colour who isn't just a token and lastly i heard about this casting a couple of weeks ago!

Agreed, and for people who bitch about box ticking quotas the reason they exist now is because for such a long time TV shows were almost exclusively white. POC were lucky to be cast even in bit parts. Even now it seems like casting people have to be all but forced to cast POC actors sometimes. It's not so bad in the UK these days but America network TV still isn't nearly as diverse as it could be.
