Oh, well thanks for ladling on the pressure!

I hope you hate it now, I wouldn't want to set a precedent...

Me too, off to get some 'coke'... or "beer"

I wouldn't say people are weirdly obsessed at all. Everyone has different tastes and mine is i prefer pepsi max to coke as i personally think coke is rotten

Had you read my original post, you would have read that i don't drink fizzy juice often. But "occasionally" i drink pepsi max. Hardly an obsession is it?

For me it has to be original Coke or if we're going Sugar Free then Pepsi Max.

I can't say I've noticed a change in the taste.

Well I tasted the 1.5l Pepsi Max, and not sure if it is my imagination but it did taste slightly different from the 2l Pepsi Max.

It had a slightly more soapy taste to it than usual, but I couldn't tell if that was because I hadn't chilled it enough or something else.

On the other occasions i have bought it, it's always been quite a nice refreshing taste, but not now.

So just wondering if anyone has tasted this recently and has noticed a different taste to it”

It had been a problem with the canning of a few batches that made me contact Britvic about the recent awful taste. When i've taken pepsi max before, it had always been ok though. I think it has been all sorted now though.

It's your imagination. Apart from production line problems mentioned earlier, why on earth would a drink taste different in a slightly smaller bottle?

There might have been another issue in the bottling area and not the canning area.

Give them a wee call on the freephone number and give them the product number at the bottom of the bottle. As it could be another issue. No harm enquiring even to just let them know.

Funnily enough I bought a bottle of Pepsi Max on Thursdaybecause it was on offer at Tesco (an ordinary offer, not discounted because it was coming up to sell by date or damaged). I prefer Diet Coke or Coke Zero before any Pepsi Max but bought it because it was on offer. It tasted horrible and I ended up chucking it out. Not horrible as if it had gone off or something was wrong with it, but it just tasted disgusting. I've had it before but don't usually buy it so just assumed they had changed the flavour to make it more sweeter. In fact, it tasted more sweeter and sugary than full fat Pepsi

I'm thinking the problem they had in the canning area, has maybe happened in the bottling part too.
Seems to be too many instances for it to be nothing. The taste from the cans i had was totally rank. Tasted like vodka only worse (if that's possible lol)

I wonder if the problem at the factory affected the full sugar Pepsi as well as Pepsi Max? While I'm more of a Coke fan, I don't mind Pepsi and will buy it occasionally if it's on special offer.

For that reason I got a 8-pack of cans last month, however each of them tasted "off" and I ended up throwing away the last few because it just wasn't the flavour I was familiar with - it had a weird aftertaste that I can't quite describe, but it was really rank. At first I thought it was that I'd picked up Pepsi Max by accident (which I'm not a fan of) or it had been put in the wrong cans, but someone I know who drinks a lot of that tasted it and said it was far too sugary for it to be Max.

Interestingly, went to Subway today (who now stock Pepsi products apparently - don't know when that changed) and tried one from their soda dispenser machine and it also tasted strange, so either my taste buds have changed massively in just two months, or they've got bigger problems at the factory.

I opened a new 2 litre bottle at the weekend (fresh from Sainsbury's) and thought I'd poured it into a soapy glass. Got new glass, rinsed it, same. Put it down to my imagination until I read your post. Something is amiss........

I switch between Coke Zero & Pepsi Max, depends on what is on offer at the supermarket, but I do prefer Coke Zero. Very rarely do I have full sugar Coke, maybe on the odd long car / train journey do I find it more refreshing than the Sugar free alternative. If I am at the pub & have a cheeky JD or Disaronno then I have to have full sugar coke / pepsi with it. Other Spirits like Malibu and Pernod, I prefer lemonade.

I had some last week and I didn't notice any difference. I only ever drink the diet/zero ones, never the sugary ones as I think the sugary ones taste like cough medicine.
