Now TV - Sky Sports
Hello , wondering anyone can help me.
I'm looking to buy a Now TV box so that I can order Sky Sports on passes as and when I want to view it. Can I simply buy a box and order the pass as and when or do I need some kind of other subscription to be able to do this? |

You can buy a pass right away but not activate it until you're ready, long as it's within (I believe) a year. No subscriptions are required.

I have bought a Now TV's sky sport day pass 5 times since Jan 2016.
Last Saturday, I got Now TV's sky sport monthly pass. I also cancelled it at the same time so sky sport will disappear on 23/5/2016 If you really smart, someone could get 4 Now TV boxes, keep 2 for yourself and 2 for someone else, share the Now TV account. You could get the Now TV's Entertainment, Movies and Sport passes for £50 per month or for 2 people sharing it at £25 per month |

Thankyou both. I bought a box with a months Sky Sports pass. Now for some other novice questions..... How much data is likely to be used streaming one football match?

Are the channels streamed in HD or SD?
I know if I watch a channel live on my Now TV entertainment package, it's streamed in SD. I hate watching football in SD now. |

Cheers East - useful info. ![]() I got a Sky Sports Now TV one day pass code from a twin pack of Pringles (£3 in Tesco) the other day, so I'll look forward to watching some footie in HD soon. Mind you, the EPL is a dead rubber now! |

I'm assuming that Now TV box is for the new one and not the old one?

I heard those pringle packs they were still selling off had an offer that expired at the end of March. Hopefully that's wrong. |

Interesting that watching catch-up/on demand will be in 720p where live will be SD. So worth having the patience to not watch live if not worried about spoilers in the meantime. |

I think that list may be wrong as far as PC is concerned, I watched the Chelsea-Spuds match on Monday night on my HTPC via the Universal Windows App and if that stream was only SD its the best SD stream I've ever seen, it was certainly better than watching NBC's 7K bitrate HD streams and miles better than Sky Sports SD on cable.

Ah, dammit, you're right! Expired 31st March:

I wonder what the legal position is for them selling items with offers that have expired and not making it clear at point of sale. May be chance of a refund or compo if you're not keen on the actual pringles and take them back. |

As an aside have Now TV/Sky announced that they are putting the price of the sports passes up?
I used Now TV on Monday because I had a pass on my account that was about to expire and wanted to check out how the service works these days before I ditch Sky Sports on my cable subscription (Its probably a year and a half since I tried Now TV to watch a game and then it was definatly SD and buffered like hell, glad to see how well they've improved). When I went to ebay to buy another pass to replace it I couldn't believe that lots of them seemed to be going for more than buying a £6:99 pass direct from Now TV, got mine for £5:50 though
