Three - London Underground Wifi, access denied?
I'm a new pay monthly customer to Three, I was in London over the weekend but had nothing but trouble trying to use Virgin's underground Wi-Fi. After selecting Three from the dropdown menu on Virgin's Wifi portal page, it would show this most of the time:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...3-12-58-53.png I'm trying to reach that login page where I can put my phone number and password to get access, I think I only ever saw that page twice. Any ideas why I'm getting a locked image? |

Is it a new mobile?
Has it been previously on a different network? If it has thier system might be getting confused. |

Have you registered with MyThree, set a password and waited 48 hours as per the instructions on Three's website?

It's an old unlocked phone, switched to Three a week and half ago. Yes I signed up while I was in London, but still odd to get that android padlock screen from Virgin's wifi portal when it would not give me the chance to try logging in? It was happening even when selecting EE and Vodaphone
I will have to try again when I'm there next. |

There's a security problem with the secure connection to the captive portal server (the login system). Either they are forcing HTTP rather than HTTPS, or they have a problem with the certificate. The other thing to double check is that your phone's time and date are set correctly.
Next time - connect to the underground WiFi, and press the home key when the "sign in to wifi network" box with the padlock comes up. Then open the web browser on the phone and go to bbc.co.uk, and see if the captive portal loads for you to put your login details in. |
